I'm now on month 2, week 1 and I still like it. It's rough but you will feel yourself change. There is a significant increase in difficulty in month 2 and it is not low impact so if you have knee or hip issues, you might need something else.

I've coached a lot of people through Insanity (and use it myself) and have seen some pretty incredible results. In addition to the cardio (and some resistance) work, the program also includes the Elite Nutrition plan which helps a lot of people move to a "cleaner" style of eating.

I'm on week 3 just finished day 4 and I'm still loving it. It's definitely a intense workout but I feel so good afterwards. My Abs and thighs were burning the first week but they are much better now. If you get it, just make sure to go at you're own pace, don't try to keep up w/ them if you can't, you get better results w/ doing the moves the right way! I haven't lost any weight either, but I do notice things fitting differently also.

I am at the beginning of week three and its great....I've lost 6 inches already! Haven't lost any weight yet but things fit differently and my bf sure notices the difference. I'm excited to get to the 60 day mark so I can begin brazil butt lift, which isn't easy but I'm sure will be much easier than insanity. Love it and recommend.

I started it this past Monday. Day 1 is a "Fit Test" which is a bit of a work out but it's used to gauge your current level. This test is done every 2 weeks. The first actual work out was pretty rough, I made it through but had to stop for a few seconds in a couple places and couldn't keep up with Shaun T., especially towards the end (though I did ALMOST as well as some of the others in the video). The second is more resistance than the first but still very cardio heavy, it was rough also but i made it through. Both of them began with similar warm ups, which consisted of 3 minute block performed back to back with increasing intensity and then a stretch after the 3 blocks of activity. After the stretch it's back to an intense work out. I liked them, they went quickly and seemed to blend body weight resistance with a lot of cardio.

Gotta admit, I have a ton of respect for anyone that tries that workout. The commercials I've seen are enough to scare me! I honestly think I'd have a heart attack if I tried to do one of those workouts. I need to get in much better shape before even making an attempt.

I have enough room in my apartment for my dumbbells and jump rope, but not enough to do all the moves in the Insanity workout.. The man covers some ground. I like the fitness test exercises but some of the plyometric ones you're moving a couple of steps each direction and I just don't have that kind of real estate available! hahaha

As it is using the jump rope I'm always worried about the rope hitting the ceiling....

But otherwise I think Insanity is a cool program, I just wish I had more space available to do all the routines better.

I'm actually currently doing insanity asylum. It's a monster compared to p90x and p90x2 which I've insisted one round each. I love the challange I get form the program. I've learned that it's more fun when you're working with someone.

Today was day 2 of week four for Insanity. I am still liking it (the LOVE has dwindled a little but I still look forward to workout time everyday). I am looking forward to recovery week next week, making sure to push myself this week to feel like I definitely EARNED my recovery week. Only thing I don't like about days off is finding the next day so much harder.
I see that some find the repetition of workouts boring but I don't think it boring, just means by the end of this months I kind of know what move is coming next instead of figuring it out when we get there. (But I could see someone getting bored by it if/when they do multiple rounds of it, I am just going to try NOT to memorize the workout and let it surprise me every time.)
I plan on doing it all over again when I finish it. I have lost 7 pounds so far, and I have yet to take measurements to see where that came from.
Good luck if you wanna do it. I motivate myself to do it everyday because I am flat out tired of dealing with being unfit and having weight that I don't want so I make myself do it. If you have NO personal motivation....I don't know what to tell you. Good luck.

As a P90X grad, the program will give you some results. Any program will, especially if you're untrained. However, I've seen far superior results with barbell training. I would recommend that over anything you see on TV. Just my opinion.

Theath- maybe you should- it may send you more quickly toward that 190-lb goal of yours! emoticon emoticon

I'm thinking about P90X after "racing season' is over for me. That would be October. We'll see, but I think these types of workout programs have definite value for people if they buy in to the system and stick to it.

i tried it. I hate doing DVD's. It's the same 5 workouts over and over for a month. Then a different 5. If they one day have a DVD program that has 30 different workouts during a month then I'll be the first to jump on it.

Insanity works and is hard. I got to about week 3.5 and stopped. I just got bored of the same old videos. I kept running all through those 3 weeks so that when I stopped the workouts I would have something to go back to which I enjoy even more.

Some people swear by it, it does work. It is boring.

Good luck in your journey!

I just finished my 3rd week. I LOVE IT. I was so unmotivated to work out before, and this is the first time I've really stuck with anything. I'm determined to finishe the 60 days. It is hard, and I can't always do everything, but I modify, when I need to. It's the best workout that I've tried at home. I've seen immediate results in my arms, abs, and legs.

Depends on your goals, but generally? Waste. Of. Time.

I'm seriously considering the Insanity workout - like that it doesn't take any extra equipment.

Would love to do it with someone else as an accountability buddy - anyone up for it?

I've done both P90X and Insanity. I love the Hybrid version that combines Insanity Cardio with the P90X strength training. Insanity is TOUGH!! I had done 2 fulls rounds of P90X before stepping into Insanity, the warm up is 10 brutal minutes. Even the short videos, 40 minutes plus or minus are crazy. You MUST push yourself to get thru them, but they work. I'm currently doing P90X2, I don't like it as well as the old P90X or Insanity, but I'm going to complete it. I do throw in the occasional Insanity for some tough cardio and I also just threw in a week of good old P90X strength training routines.

Insanity is intense cardio, so coupled with a reasonable strength training program or if you're currently on hiatus from a strength training program, this might be a suitable selection. I'm wary of too much cardio though as it promotes muscle loss. I fell into that trap.

P90X is cardio/strength mix. It's a reasonably good beginner's program especially if you have minimal equipment.

I have also been considering this purchase. A coworker/friend just got P90x, so I think I am going to borrow his disc when I can, and see if what I think of it. I'm a lot more interested in the Insanity though. If I like P90x, I will probably get Insanity. How long are the workouts? How much space is needed to do them? A couple of the workouts they do on the infomercial looks like I would need to rearrange the living room and not be able to use the workout room.

I did insanity and lost 15 lbs during the 90 days. I was definitely insane and certainly NOT easy. I hear it's harder than P90x (which I haven't done). It's a full body cardio workout that kicks your ass, but if you can stick with it it does wonders. I really need to do a second round. :)

"Easy" and "Insanity" don't belong in the same However, yes, you do not need any weights. The entire program is based on body weight. The thing is, no matter how much you improve, the workout is never "easy".

You'll see that in how the actors in the video are breathing hard and sweating. But that's the good thing about it. If it's a good workout for someone who is in great shape, then it can work for anyone!

I have it. It will kick your @ss but get you in awesome shape. If you decide to go with it make sure you don't over exert yourself at the beginning. "Insanity" is an appropriate name for it. But it is a great workout!!
