It depends on my mood. When I am in a positive mood, they encourage me to keep going. But when I am in a negative mood, all the positivity just makes me feel worse.

I personally love reading them. It makes me want to keep going. I especially love the ones that I see on here because then you can check in with how they are doing now, and follow there journey.

That's the trouble with all of these success stories, in magazine's or on tv ads, etc., there is no follow up for months and years later on. I've been in 2 magazines with great stories, but it didn't last forever, either. There is much more going on with overeating than just keeping your self eating healthly and exercising, and I have not found that answer to that, after all these years.....................sorry to say.

Absolutely.....You can tell how much it has changed their lives for the better....It makes me want to continue and reach my own personal goal. I would love to see a follow-up to each of the success stories a year, two years, and five years after they have accomplished their goal to see where they are today. That would make it that more real to me that they were able to maintain such an incredible success in weight loss!

Not really, I do know the feeling of "success", but have also had "success" many times, only to have "reality" come back....................it ain't over, just because you hit your goal.

Honestly, sometimes they help and motivate me. Other times when I am already feeling down, they just remind me how far I have to go and how far out of shape I let myself get. I'd previously lost 72 pounds on Spark back in 2010-2011 but a spine injury plus a medication did me in. I keep kicking myself that I should have gotten control over it before it got this bad, or else *I* may have been a success story by now. Instead, I'm behind my expected weight loss amount and fighting to stay positive. According to my Spark weight graph, I should be at 292 right now, but I've struggled hard to hit 299.
I avoid the success stories on my bad days and read some on my good days when I feel like I can actually do this again.

Absolutely! I'm beyond grateful for them.
Just knowing that others who are in similar shoes as yours are succeeding is so helpful. Plus you can learn what worked for them and what didn't. Or they may have a saying or something that just resonates.
It was encouraging to think that if they could do it, I might be able to as well.
Lastly, I would picture myself being one of those success stories. Maybe not necessarily featured on the website, but just being a success story in terms of achievement.
I always suggest people peruse the Woo-Hoo / Success pages. It's so positive and inspiring, and sometimes that's all the hope someone may need.

Yes, I have enjoyed the success stories, ordinary people like you and I, overcoming their personal trials to push forward towards successful weight loss. On difficult days it is good to read how others have persevered and met with success. How can you not love and feel inspired by everyone who tells their story, I am inspired by all the posters here in the message boards. It's a struggle and we are all in it, it is great to hear about the successes.
