I agree with other posters. Greek yogurt with berries is a great snack with 20-21 grams of protein. Also, having protein with every meal or snack is great advice as well. Plan your meals in advance to make sure you're getting enough protein.

I was in the same boat not enough protein at all.

I eat lean chicken, not to fond of red meats anymore.

so other things I've done. I eat Greek yogurt-I buy plain and put in my own fruit, gives me better control of the cals/sugars, and I put in vanilla protein powder. I found some that is a bit higher in protein grams and mix that in with the yogurt and fruit. Just work on how much you can put in without changing the flavors/texture for you. I use about 15 grams of powder.

I do get cottage cheese too. and Low fat Shredded cheese for other things.

I've also found that I can drink Muscle milk if I need to give my self a bit more protein for the day.

Oh another treat I do to help is I have used the greek yogurt blended with my food processor with frozen fruit. makes me an ice cream treat with more protein.

Add protein powder. I originally thought it would be gross but now I love it. I have a lot more energy as well :)

I started eating 1/2 C of cottage cheese 2X daily. Not my favorite, but not super expensive and easy.

Make sure to eat your protein if you are vegetarian you can easily get it through lentils and beans and if you are non-vegetarian chicken and egg whites are the best options...

Make sure you eat protein with all your meals and snacks.

Examples:
Apple with peanut butter
Hummus with carrots
Cream cheese and multi grain crackers
String cheese and fruit

An egg or yogurt with breakfast

Beans, chicken or shrimp in your salad

Beans can add protein to lots of things.
