Wow, thanks for your insights and sharing. It is good to hear how exercise and fitness has not only changed the body but changed the spirit and mind of individuals. I am experiencing this after a long period of not feeling good in mind and spirit.
Your journey to fitness and health has inspired me, .... sometimes it is difficult to see the gains coming, that is the gains of fitness and health. So it is fun and exciting to see how people have overcome and made a difference in their lives!

I especially realized how my mood is changing since I'm doing the "Better Sleep Challenge". I recommend it to everybody!! Better sleep with the coming spring/summer puts me in such a good mood right now!!!

Absolutely more energy and a newer, brighter outlook on life. Additionally, I have read so many blogs about people that are down on their luck, I find myself smiling at strangers or being extra polite to people I don't know. I've really come to learn that you definitely "can't judge a book by it's cover" and that you never know what type of "baggage" people are carrying. Treat people the way you would want to be treated. I'm starting to think that if we all treated each other like we treat each other in the Spark community the world might be a much better place!

Total change in attitude, no more anti-depressive pills. Also gave up medications for aching joints....
I have, by nature, a rather blue personality. I've never been diagnosed with depression as I've never sought professional opinions on it but I believe I may have suffered from something akin to depression at various times in my life. Although I was very happy and had a great personal life and things were generally going my way, I always had a bit of a blue feeling. Since starting to exercise intensely in 2012, that blue feeling has basically disappeared and I find myself feeling "lighter" emotionally. I still have stressors in my life (who doesn't?) but with exercise, I feel tremendously better. I used to contemplate taking my own life eventually (not in the near future, but I always kind of assumed that I eventually would, say 20 years from now) but I no longer have those thoughts. The only things that changed were I ate less (same exact diet, just less overall) and I started exercising intensely 5 days/week.
Exercise makes a huge difference to me. I have depression and since I started running my bad days are nearly non existant. I have more energy, I do more and I feel a lot happier when I have exercise in my day.

I'm definately more happy since I started paying attention to myself and making healthy choices.
I am wondering how many of you have experienced an overall change in your mood and your outlook since you started walking, exercising and taking good care of yourself with SparkPeople?
I am experiencing a new zest for living, and a joyful feeling... even when I encounter some unpleasant happening or news, I am able to meet it with a different attitude. I am so thankful.
