Ended up putting off the half-marathon. Think I'm having issues with my knee (IT Band?).

Decided to not push it.

I'm sure another one will come up.

Good luck with your training 5ka are quick and over before ya know it, half marathons are bit more mental and obviously require more training ...some longer run/walks ....cant wait to see ya hiy your goal emoticon

PBS had a program on training for the Boston Marathon and the doctors found that those who trained when after five months they ran a half marathon that they had 90% of the benefits for their health. When they went on to train and run the full marathon, they only improved 10% more, which the doctors said wasn't worth the risk of having an injury. They said that injury happened most often AFTER the half way of a marathon run, so they'd be better off staying with the half marathon for health.

So I started getting my health in check back in March. My goal? - Run a 5K every month until the weather stops me.

I have been able to run a 5K every month since March. In fact, I will have ran two in September! I have dropped over 30 pounds since then.

My next goal is to run a half-marathon in October.

If you would have asked me back in march if I'd be talking about entering a half-marathon ... I would have told you you were nuts!

Proud of myself. Feels good.
