LIke others I got a bunch of these at one time - I was going to ask if there is a place to see where one is.. how far from the next trophy but from someone's comment there appears to be such a place.. where is it located? Thanks
Using the mileage tracker to access this new type of award - am I correct in thinking that it should be only distances actually walked/run, rather than a composite of my various 10-minutes's and 15-minutes's during the day? Or can I add all my odds and ends together and just add a total to my mileage tracker?
Thank you for the explanation. I first came across this award today - I've been awarded the 25 mile award. I will now be more vigilant about adding that part of my exercise that way - having spent a while this evening trying to work out how to do the mileage tracking in "my fitness" page, just because I had remembered about it again. So the explanation helps me no end. And I'd already discovered that tracking mileage this way doubles the points - because tracking the exercise as itself through the fitness tracker will add this too. So I have to remember to just add the one *or* the other.
I love it that SP introduces new ways of tracking in various ways - I just wish I'd know about it before it was started.
Yes, as I said, it is only the mileage tracker that counts for these awards. Though you are correct that you can choose cycling or walking options for calorie count purposes, the mileage is totaled together toward the awards.
Anything you track with the other tracker doesn't count toward the award. I hope this clarifies it for you a bit!
You said the mileage tracker does not differentiate between activities.
However, when I go to the "Track Your Fitness page, there is a box with tabs just above "My Exercises". One of those tabs is labeled "Mileage". Is this the mileage tracker you are referring to? If so, the only two activities in the the drop down selection are walk/run and cycling.
If I were to select "Elliptical Training" from "Search", it doesn't have various speeds or distances like cycling, walking or running to determine the distance. So how can I get the mileage tracker to pick up mileage I go on the elliptical?
If I were to select walking from "Search" rather than the mileage tracker mentioned above, does it pick up the mileage walked from the time I entered? Example: If I selected Walking 3mph (20 min mile) and I entered 20 minutes, will I get credit for walking 3 miles?
The awards are for the total distance you track using the mileage tracker. The mileage tracker doesn't differentiate various activities, so it would be the overall total number of miles you've accumulated over time.
So, from what I'm gathering here, the Lifetime Mile Awards apply to both walking AND running! I've been tracking my running but not my walking! Now that I know this, I will be sure to be tracking both my running AND my walking! This is so cool!

Thanks, Ann. I'll keep an eye on my page.
Livelafluv -i really like your fun spark name. I use the mileage tracker, too, but haven't received any trophies.
I believe the new trophies are still rolling out, so you should see it soon. Let me know if you don't see them by tomorrow. It was my understanding that the fitness minute trophies wouldn't be retroactive, but for months starting now. I will look into it, though, and see what I can find and will keep you posted!
They just magically appeared for me. I do track mileage in my tracker, so maybe that's it?

I was wondering about these new trophies, too! I have been using the distance tracker since I started SparkPeople in January and log at least 5 miles per week. But alas, I haven't seen any of these trophies on my SparkPage. Same with the new 1500 minute fitness trophies. Ann, can you explain? Thanks. LOL...never thought I would care about bling, but I have surprised myself and guess I do care. How fun!
If you add something to your mileage tracker, it will automatically create an entry in the tracker for your fitness minutes and calories burned. So when you track the mileage, there is no need to create an additional entry for the same activity.

I am also waiting on the response. The last thing I want to do is double count any activity.

Thanks for bringing this up - I haven't tracked miles - but don't want to double up! Waiting for the answer!

Hi, If you set up and utilize the mileage tracker does that add any minutes/calories burned on your Fitness Tracker? Meaning, if you add the mileage tracker does it cause you to "double dip" on your fitness minutes/calories burned?
I just re-read this question and even I'm confused! Example, I use the Leslie Sansone Walk away the Pounds dvd's. If I do the 4 mile "Super Challenge" and enter 50 minutes on my fitness tracker as cardio AND put 4 miles on my mileage tracker is it going to double my minutes/calories?
Those are brand new awards you can earn by tracking mileage. They're awarded automatically based on your tracking using the mileage tracker. If you aren't using that yet and would like to track your mileage, you can set that up by clicking on the mileage tab and then clicking on the link you see to start tracking mileage. Then you'll be guided through the process of setting it up and you can start tracking mileage and receiving the new trophies.

Now I have been on SP over a year and I have never heard of a LIFETIME MILE AWARD from SP yet I am seeing all my SP friends get this award in rapid succession.
Hey I am all about the bling and want some of that action! Please let me know how to get these awards. I have tons of Fitness Minutes.
