I make sure I'm actually hungry first. I drink water, chew gum, etc and otherwise distract myself for about 20 mins. If the hunger is still there, then I grab an apple or banana which I always have near by.

I have a snack...snacking on the right foods will keep blood sugar balanced and not being ravenous

Eggs Are Loaded with Nutrients & lots of vitamins...Enjoy with minimal impact on your blood sugar with an egg...74 calories
1/2 cup Cottage Cheese and a handful of Matchstick carrots, flaxseeds around 75 calories

1/2 Avocado with stuffed crabmeat 4 ounces crabmeat with a tad of mayo on a bed of lettuce about 6 carbs

5 or 6 black olives...stuff with lauging cow low fat cream cheese

Red or green peppers for crunch, steer clear of potato chips and packaged popcorn -- the processed ingredients in these snack foods can kill your energy levels...3 cups of light popcorn (no salt, no butter). add cinnamon or parm

String Cheese 80 calories...10 baby carrots with 2 tbs. of Ranch Dressing
Deli roast beef is almost as low in fat as turkey. Two to three deli slices are less than 150 calories

If you're hungry for a snack, grab one small orange and get a juicy dose of vitamin C as well as fiber, an apple, peach, pear, plum, kiwi...but berries are probably the best as they not only give you energy but have the least impact on blood sugar.
