YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! I got a message to when I went to the orthopedist. I was diagnosed with osteoarthitis in my knee. He said I needed to lose weight or a knee replacement, down the road, was waiting for me. Ugh. Thank goodness I found Spark!! There is so much to learn on this site and so many wonderful people to back you up. Just yell for help when you need a hug or a word of motivation!! We are here for you. emoticon

Congratulations on choosing Spark People! IT WORKS! I want to re-iterate what was said about you making mistakes from time to time and recovering from that. For me, that's one of the two biggies. 1) DO NOT QUIT just because you ate too much one day, one week, etc. Get back in it! ASAP! 2) TRACK WHAT YOU EAT! TRACK IT!

You will see marvelous changes! emoticon

You can absolutely do this thing! The fantastic news is that in as little as a couple of weeks of eating right and exercise you can start seeing results (plus I think guys seem to drop pounds easier).

I'm sorry it took a doctor's visit to get you to make up your mind. But I am glad you are committed!!! You can do this. Losing weight isn't easy. But with support and motivation, you can get through it. My advice to you is to accept the fact that you may oops up every now and then, but keep going. Resolve to learn from your mistakes and not make them again. This wisdom comes from my own personal experience. I'm still learning from my mistakes.

this is my first time dieting or even making up my mind on whether it was time to lose weight the shocker came during a doctors visit. I was there for a TB shot we i became surrounded by a team of doctors stating if i don't drop some weight i will be at risk for diabetes. my eyes are wide open now i am ready to change my mindset and i know this can not be achieved alone so hello everyone my mind is made up, so spark me up new family. emoticon
