I usually plan my meals a week out when doing my grocery shopping and then plan the week accordingly. I work in the food service industry. Sometimes it's difficult to control my cravings when I am always around so much food all the time. I don't always the the willpower to say "NO", but I have been saying "YES" to more of the better for me foods. There is hope!

@ Bump. I track before I eat too. It is VERY helpful. If I'm away from my computer, I track on the Spark application for my iPhone.

I take it even further and plan a week ahead of time, at least for weekdays. Weekends are a bit harder to plan ahead since we often go out last minute but I can usually at least put my breakfast and lunch in so I can see how much calories I have left for dinners out.

I plan my meals 7 days in advance. I can't understand how you would know what you ate , if you didn't track it beforehand. Plus I can then use the grocery button to make sure I don't buy anything extra.

This is my greatest weakness. I'm always tracking after, and doing damage control!

Great idea! I used to be on a program where I had to track every bite BEFORE I ate it (to cut down on mindless snacking). It was a pain in the butt, but it did help me to be aware of some of the things that would have gone untracked. It would also help with planning balanced meals!

this morning I actually input my breakfast in my tracker to see what would be the best balance BEFORE I ate and not afterwards. This felt good.
