I use to go to the gym, but since I start my workout at 0350 in the morning; I went ahead and invested in a treadmill. spinning bicycle, pull up bar, bowflex, and a jump rope. I also do crunches and pushups for stomach and chest. I really like working out at home! When ever I get board, I usually ride the spin bike for 20 min and then jump on the treadmill and go for a mile and half jog (without jumping in a car, driving for who- knows-how-long, to hope and pray that the gym equipment isn't being used? I have pic of what I use in my sparkpage (Oooorah)!
We were spending $70/month on gym membership, and definitely not using it enough. I have a treadmill and tons of workout DVD's. Plus, I like walking with my husband. Now that the kids are getting bigger, we can take 1/2 hour walks alone!!!
I hate working out at home, I ADORE the gym. I am extremely lucky, I don't know how the stars aligned for me, but I found an excellent gym 5 minutes walk from my house and only €149/year. It's like hitting the lottery for me. We thought we didn't have money in the budget for a gym membership but with it being so inexpensive it wasn't hard to fit it in.
A day without a visit to my gym is NOT a good day!

Home.. Its free. I dont need all that fancy equipment... Plus I have to drive 14 miles to get to a gym.
I do both........weighting classes 3 days a week 1 day a week of spin class at the gym and the rest I do at home........I day a week strength training and the other 4 of cardio.

Neither, I'd rather be walking or hiking outside and in the summer swimming outside. I like Zumba and our local small gym has drop in rates for that so I Zumba once or twice a week. Person who said they could not afford a gym, try the Y for good rates and you can do it month to month as well.

I prefer working out at home. I find the Jillian Michael DVD's very effective, and when I look at the time in my day, it makes more sense for me to spend an hour exercising at home, compared to the added time of going to and from the gym. And when I did belong to a gym, my biggest issue was waiting for machines.
I'm jealous. I would love to be able to have a gym membership, but my finances are such that I cannot afford one, and my transportation availability is such that I couldn't get to one right now if I did. I have a [new] total gym, and we have a recumbant bike which NORMALLY I use for cardio, but I have to take it easy for a couple days since I fell on Sunday and TOTALLY bruised up my leg and kind of hurt my knee.

Which do you enjoy most? I use to workout at home. But joined a gym and I love it!
