I usually don't resurrect dead threads but this deserves it:
So I was doing box jumps today after my 3 mile run and decided to increase the height. Well either my legs were more tired than I thought, I was clearing the box at my previous height by not as much as I thought, or a combination of the 2 but I didn't get my right foot all the way up and ended up banging my shin on the edge of the box. Now there are 2 very swollen spots on my shin. Aaaand I'm heading to Glacier National Park next week for 2 weeks of intense hiking.

When I first went to the gym to lose weight 6 years ago, I was sooo exhausted after a treadmill workout that I forgot to stop the machine. I just stopped moving to take a breather and sure enough I fell off the treadmill and smacked my head on the wall Everyone looked. Then my silly self tried to get back on the treadmill to shut if off and fell again. Some guy next to me hopped off his to shut mine off. My face was so red. And to make matters worse, I tripped on the carpet as I was heading to the lockers and fell a third time. I changed and then realized I forgot my headphones and keys at the treadmill I was on but thankfully it was taken to the front desk for me to claim. I didn't go back to that gym :P I had four bruises..while five if you count my ego..After I lost some weight and felt more comfortable, I was apart of a different gym thanks to my friend's membership hookup. Now I do not use the gym but she still makes fun of me. Though you could say I am just naturally clumsy and forgetful even when I am at home :)

I hopped off the elliptical when I was still in college, and thought I had enough width to clear it. Nope... had a HUGE bruise on the inside of my right knee from hitting the side of the foot runner!
I decided to shower at the gym today because the water where I live was being shut off all day. When I walked into the gym I noticed I didn't have my shower towel. I called my son at home only to find out that my towel was on the ground where my car was parked.

I once packed a pair of gym pants that were too big. They kept slipping as I did my cardio class. Annoying and embarrassing!
I was running on the treadmill and moved my arm, snagging the cord of my headphones, which were connected to my iphone, which proceeded to fall, hitting the belt of the treadmill and flew across the room to smacking against the wall. All eyes on me. Sad part is, I did that same thing more than once. Three times to be exact.

underwear statically attached to my workout clothes that worked themselves out onto the treadmill in a crowded gym. of course you dont til you get off and see panties on the floor at end of tradmill that look suspiciously like yours. Sadly this has happened at work before too.

I had everything but my tennis shoes. Couldn't work out barefoot or stocking foot & my heels were NOT going to "cut it"!
Now I have a check list to make sure I have what I NEED!

the Y added a 6AM Tabata class to the schedule, and I really wanted to take the class. My morning workouts are usually at home, but no way am I going to push myself as hard.
so I take the class, manage to remember ALL of the stuff I need to clean up and go to work, go to one of the "family" restrooms (they have the showers in the restroom), take off my wet workout clothes to take a shower, and notice the shower head is missing. I decided if the water was still turned on, I wasn't getting dressed to move to another location.
so I took my shower (with no shower head). The entire bathroom was SOAKED! Walls, floor, toilet seat, even the mirror over the sink. The paper products are encased, so all of that was fine. I dried off the toilet seat and mirror with paper towels, and sopped up as much as I could from the floor. It still was pretty bad though.
I notice that shower head did get replaced pretty quick

I used to belong to a fairly small, hardcore-type iron gym. One day I was in there early afternoon with 10 or so other people in the same room, all guys. I got the Oly bar and set up for a power clean and jerk at a weight I felt very comfortable with. Well, all eyes were on me, and I missed the lift! I almost died of embarrassment! I'm sure I have embarrassed myself many times besides this, but I was thankfully unaware!

I was at my school gym a few years ago and I was walking across non-moving treadmills to get to the tv remote. Only I missed my step and fell very hard in front on the entire (very obnoxious) baseball team. Being a very prideful individual, I shook it off like it was nothing, but I woke up the next day with a bruise from my ankle all the way up to my hip! I've never seen such a large bruise before!

I thought the ellipticals worked like the treadmills, so the first time I got on one, I couldn't figure out why it wasn't turning on. I punched buttons like a caveman until my weight shifted, the pedals moved, and the machine turned on. I felt like SUCH an idiot.
The lady next to me laughed, but she was really nice about it. She said she did the same thing her first time, and then she showed me a sample workout program since I was a noob. :)
In my opinion, the kettleball on the nipple wins in this list of workout woops.

I passed out in the gym once right in front of the guy who ran the place, I got off the stairmaster and was walking back to the locker room when all of a sudden, thonk, I went black and hit the floor, I was *thisclose* to poking my eye out on one of the machines! How embarrassing!
as far as forgetting clothes, the other day I forgot my workout pants and had to get on the elliptical for 30 minutes in my work pants - fortunately they were black at least, or I wouldn't have done it.

When I was at my high weight, I went to the gym and did my full workout, cardio, strength, and cool/stretching.
When I got home I found that at some point during the workout I had split my pants- Big time! Right down the butt. And to make matters worse, the underwear I was wearing was in pretty bad shape.
I did not go back to the gym in that time slot for a LOOONG time after that.
I havent had any gym fails other than some stalker. He came up to me in the hallway and said he had seen me at the gym and asked a few darn inapppropriate and creepy questions. I have heard that one girl after I Ieft lost her footing on the treadmill, fell off and then broke her nose in the process. Another reason I dont trust treadmills and I felt so bad for her, that had to hurt.
I've forgotten my good ol' sweat towel many times... the other day I realized I'd picked out a workout top I generally don't like to wear in public because it tends to ride up and show my belly (made it through my workout, though, without any belly showing haha), had my resistance band break on me before (I just pretend I'm too strong for its own good.)
I was demonstrating to someone at the gym what a pistol was ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLBAbqEZIeU ) and since I need to scale it, I held onto a rope in front of me. Unfortunately, the rope was held back with a bungee cord which snapped loose when I grabbed the rope so I fell down and got smacked in the face with the rope!

I've done the same as LEC358, in terms of forgetting clothes to wear to work post-workout. The worst was the day I had decided to bring a skirt and forgot my underwear! CVS to the rescue.

thought I had all my workout clothes, but I had grabbed 2 shirts and NO shorts. Quick run to the only place in town to buy some shorts on my lunch break. The dreaded, hideous Dollar General shorts that my husband HATES (from the men's section, too).
But they served the purpose. I wasn't posing for Shape or anything... well, not THAT day anyway

I was teaching a class last night and leading the room in a bear crawl across the floor. When I got to the wall, I forgot about the attached barre and slammed my head into it standing up. D'oh.

I've forgotten pieces of clothing to change into (I go from gym to work), work shoes, water bottles, shampoo, etc. You name it, I've probably left it at home at least twice.

I forgot socks one day. Had to run to the store and buy a pack. I've also forgotten my shoes, mp3 player, and more. This doesn't relate to the gym but one time my family and I went on a trip to a waterpark and I forgot the bottom half of my swimsuit.
5/8/13 9:53 A
lol my brother was visiting and going to the gym with me- we get there one day and he looked down and realized he hadn't put on his workout shoes... he was wearing his indoor house shoes!
i've forgotten water before- thankfully they gave me a bottle from the back, since i really just can't workout without it!
Forgot my sports bra. I worked out at home after work instead!
5/8/13 7:41 A
I left my key card home but did go back to get it and did my workout anyway. "DUH" moment to the max!

I got all the way to the gym after work yesterday and realized I managed to bring only one running shoe. Thus, I ended up with an unplanned rest day. And I was all proud of myself for remembering to pack socks...
