Thanks everyone! I think I'll skip the guar gum this go round. I'm not feeling particularly peckish, it's just that I'm still not getting the amount of fiber I want, though my intake has increased the last few months...definitely eating more fresh veg's!

Certain fiber supplements have been shown to benefit weight loss for those using a calorie deficit eating plan. Studies report that glucomannon appears to be the most effective. The diet was 1200 calories These type supplements can also lodge in one's esophagus and do damage, so it is important to follow directions carefully. I would definately talk to your doctor first before using such product and remember the main weight loss benefit is still coming from the diet!

I try to stick with real food rather than supplements. I stay full eating a mix of protein, healthy fat and carbs.

I didn't even know they made supplements--except maybe Benefiber. It seems like a waste (IMO) when you can just get higher fiber versions of regular foods. That's what I have been doing and it does help keep me full.

Hi all...

Wondering if anyone knows about using guar gum supplements? I'm wondering if it's worth it. I tried it a few years ago, to help me feel filled and up my fiber intake, but I wasn't very disciplined and didn't stick with it. Thought I might give it a go again. But, I never see anyone talking about guar gum.

Insights? Advice?
Thanks!
