Hey Marybonter welcome to Spark People! It's great that you've found a substitute to what use to work for you and that it's working now.
You'll find a lot of support and great information on this site. The tracking tools are fabulous, and the people are knowledgeable and willing to help whenever they can. If you're not already, I'd say get involved with Spark Teams that are focused on things that interest you - be it your profession, your pets, a favorite TV show, whatever. It's great to have the support and accountability of like-minded people, pulling for you all the time!

Hey thar!! I am new to the forum, but have been using this site since January. Along with a ton of other people I set my New Years resolution to live healthier, and be a better me. I am a retired military medic, mother of 2, stepmother of 2 more, and have a total of 4 grandchildren, 5 cats and 2 ShihTzu's. I should know better, being a medic and all, but food is a great comfort, now it needs to be a healthier comfort. I miss morning PT, never thought I would say that outloud, let alone write it online. But I found some DVD's that are similar to what I had been accustom too, I need the in your face sort of trainer. I do not like going to gyms, and waiting in long lines for my favourite machines. So I prefer to workout at home, where I now have everything I need. So far, so good, I do a daily routine, which is what I need for me, or I will find an excuse to do it tomorrow. and you know what they say about tomorrow! I look forward to adding message boards to my daily routine, and meeting you all online in the message boards.
