Hi Linda.

Sorry you had some bad news. Tough days are a part of life - they happen to us all at some point.
That's why viewing this journey as "lifestyle" vs "diet" w/ come in really handy.

So...one needs to come up w/ a strategy for "hanging in there" even though you may not be able to have your go-to choices at your fingertips.
Now is not the day to be rigid and think "perfection." Nor is it a reason to go all out hog wild since you don't have access to your usual fare.

Say you have to go to a fast food place. Are there certain options that are better than others? Yes. Weigh your options & choose accordingly. Could be as simple as removing 1/2 the bun a/o ordering grilled and not fried.
No matter what you choose, it's ONE DAY and truly just a blip on the radar of many, many days.

So deep breath; relax; treat yourself kindly and rationally and go on about your day.
That's what lifestyle is all about.

YOU GOT THIS!! Good luck and hope the day gets better.

And there's this: even IF you cave, have a day eating-wise that you are not happy with, put it behind you and keep on keeping on with the very next meal. No punishing yourself; no wallowing. Just do it. You'll be fine!

Don't let your bad news ruin your day. There are plenty of ways to reduce your stress without turning to food for comfort. Put on your jacket and take a walk at lunch. Does your office have a cafeteria ? If so, buy yourself a couple of pieces of fruit.

As the old song goes,"accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative". Give your credit for all the POSITIVE things you do for yourself today and don't beat yourself up if you're not perfect. You don't have to be perfect to be healthy.

Every little bit does make a difference.

If you think you are going to have a bad day, you will.

Where can you get a healthy lunch and snacks near where you work? You can get healthy food almost anywhere, even the gas station, Tim Hortons, any fast food place you can think of.

Itis going to be a long day. Got some bad news last night, hardly slept at all, overslept this morning, no time to even pack lunch before I left. Going to be one of those days ....
On days like this my food choices usually end up not being so good :(
