Actually I tried the Snack Shakes, this time in Rich Chocolate.

It tastes like the Metrecal of my youth,
but better. I remember Metrecal lemon cookies were the bomb.

I know I date myself mentioning this. Before I'd got a handle on my weight (several years before joining Spark) obesity and I had been bedfellows since early childhood ...

Ah, since the Metrecal days the only diet shakes I liked had been Elaine Powers' Shape and the Shaklee Slim Plan ... but I like these Glucerna shakes ...140 calories, and the scale tells me they are not lying. The pharmacist told me these shakes could actually be adapted for weight gain and weight maintenance.

I was interested in this a few years ago. So as I usually do I went to the store and read the ingredients list.

If I remember right it had some form of sugar which I thought was weird. Another ingredient was biotin. After "googling" this I realized it was a B-vitamin. So now I take Biotin as a supplement. My doctor is aware of this. And I feel I am getting the benefits without the sugar.....also my hair and nails are nicer.

Just saying this is what I chose.

Recently diagnosed type 2 diabetic, but I'd known about Glucerna years before (my company had been in a related business to diabetic CPGs) ...

I have to tell you that the snack bar, Chocolate Peanut, is good. The other one, Chocolate Chip Crisp, very hard to find- does not taste so great.

I can't seem to get off the merry-go-round of activity (as if diabetes would slow me down) not to need these low glycemic load snacks on the go ...

I have tasted the products and often tell folks that it is an appropriate meal replacement shake if they are looking for such a product. What are you wanting?
