Good for you! /highfive

I gave up soda about 3 weeks ago. It's super hard at first, then you don't crave it anymore. I felt a little weird after I quit drinking it, but now I feel sooo much better.

It's amazing how switching to water really changes everything. I even sleep better!

I quit cold turkey as well. I only get a twinge of craving when I see someone with one when I'm eating. Or occasionally at work.

Just want to encourage ANYONE who is thinking of quitting regular soda or diet soda to just DO it. It's great that you're thinking about it. Now do it - just for yourself. You'll feel so much better and you'll no longer have that poison coursing through your body. I quit my Diet Coke addiction cold turkey when I joined SP 595 days ago. I drank nothing but Diet Coke for decades - no tea, water or anything else. Drank it from the time my feet hit the floor in the morning until I finally went to bed at night. It's horrible, awful stuff and does so much damage to the body. Please research here on SP and elsewhere. There is so much info out there about the negative effects of any type of soda on physical health. Please, just quit. You'll be so glad you did.

I think the taste you are experiencing is normal... I used to drink nothing but Pepsi Max (for about 15 years) and giving it up 2 years ago was the best move I could have made. I seem to recall I had the same problem because my taste buds had to get used to other things. I don't know what kind of soda you have given up but if it is a caffiene based drink you might want to prepare yourself for some headaches... I had "withdrawal" headaches for months after because I had been addicted for sure. Hope you continue to do well and message me if you need some encouragement

So, I haven't drank Soda for 5 days now, and I have this weird metallically taste in my mouth-well it's sort of a mix between sugar and metal. Is this linked? How long before it goes away-it's really bizarre!
