I lost 50 lbs and have kept it off for 3 or 4 years now on eating right and exercising. There's nothing I've cut out of my diet permanently either.
Work to lose what you'd like before the wedding, but do not under any circumstances buy your wedding dress at a smaller size than what you try on, it is a guaranteed recipe for distaster and stress. If you lose weight between buying the dress and the wedding, you get alterations done.

I have 16lbs to lose before our wedding and would like to tone up too. Have tried various things lose a few lbs then get bored.
