Hi Donyita79. I am same boat except i sunk low low for 3 - 4 years! I literally just decided last week to say the heck with it and go back to feeling great about my self again. I cant wait to get home from work and jump on this website! Good luck to both of us!

Thanks for the encouragement Sue! I am going to try my best to stay more involved. Alot of SP members have said that joining the community has been the key to helping them stay motivated, so I am definitely trying it.

I am with you on the motivation part. I think this time around, I may try out a lot of different workout DVDs and try cycling and lots of walking. I am hoping to get it right and stay on track this time. I think we CAN and WILL do it! :)

Hello Donyita. I am in almost the same place. Lost 20+ lbs last year only to gain it all back. :(
I am good for a month, two, three, and then it just gets tiring. I don't know what to do about this motivation lag. I do hope community support is the key. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Hello, DONYITA!
Welcome back! I too used to be here at sparkpeople and fell away for a bit and yes, I agree that it can be scary to reach out especially to strangers but I have to say it is helping me to be here also and I did gain a lot of weight when I wasn't here and accountable for what I eat,(how much and what I eat) I emoticon onward though...
The support here is wonderful!
I have decided for myself that I will not open private messages, I am not comfortable in doing that, it is a personal choice. I am sure there are those that are encouraged by the support there also, just not for me.
Again, Welcome and use SP to the fullest you can on your new lifestyle change! emoticon emoticon

We are very excited you are here and hope this will be a timely source of support and motivation as you work toward your goals. Did you know that SparkPeople members who use the Message Boards are more likely to lose weight than those who do not? In fact, in a recent survey, message board users lost more weight and stuck with the program longer than non-posters. Here are some other tips to help you get started and make the best of your experience.

Hello everyone! I am currently in the process of admitting to myself that I have a problem. I lost about 30lbs. last year using SP, but soon became unmotivated to exercise and track my food intake once I was able to fit into my favorite clothes and "look good" again. It's been exactly a year since I was completely motivated to do "right". I didn't interact with the SP community when I was losing weight last time because I am a bit of "background" type person, but this time around, I'd like to try something new. I am hoping I will be able to hang in there with a little bit of support from everyone here. I want to be a part of this community!! This time, I am going all out without stopping. I understand this is a lifestyle change and not a fad diet. Reaching out is new and a bit scary for me, but I know this will prove to be beneficial...being connected with others struggling with some of the same issues I have. Well I just wanted to introduce myself and let you all know that I will be around. I will be creating my SP page in a bit after I am done exercising and working on my blog. Good day, everyone! :)
