We all have things about our bodies that we don't like. My body part that I don't like can't change without surgery. So I won't beat myself up over something I can't control.

You can't control how your fat collects. Or how quickly you will lose it. Don't beat yourself up.

Eat what you like and if someone comments, eat them too

Grab your doctor by the neck and force him to refer you to a good dietitian, one you can see every week for at least 2 months, and write down everything you eat and drink, and see what truths the dietitian comes up with for would be the same if you were diabetic, get the daily eating and drinking down in writing to see what perhaps is going on with your body. We can't help on a forum of people who can't see you or know you personally. Get down to the nitty gritty, please, to help yourself.

Plan for tomorrow, but enjoy the heck out of today.

You have to stop beating yourself up because you don't like how your belly looks. You are not going to see instantaneous changes the minute you make a change to what you've been eating.

If you do your best to eat right, watch your portions and stay away from fast food (no more trips to KFC or McDonalds), you will eventually see some change. But as others have mentioned, because you are a dialysis patient you must be very careful about your sodium intake. that fast food isn't good for you even if you're trying to practice moderation.

The sodium in the food you're eating is one reason you've seen an increase in the scale. it's a result of water retention. Water retention can also cause us to get bloated. That's why it is vital that you try to do your best to listen to the recommendations of your doctors and nurses.

You have to stop thinking about your belly. You need to focus your attention on the things you DO like about your body. Stop picking yourself apart bit by bit. it's self destructive.

I have been exercising regularly for months now. I am also watching what I eat and drink, both bcoz I want to lose weight and also to manage my weight for my dialysis treatments. But my belly refuses to shrink! Worse still, I don't see any changes at all!

I am getting very discouraged!
