The yoga might help by decreasing stress and inceasing a positive feelings. I actully tried yoga twice and was bored to death, so I tried pilates instead and absolutey loved it! It really works your core without doing the same old torturous crunches! I recommend it. For me it doesn't matter if I run 2 miles or 10 miles, I dont loose much weight exercising, just tone up. I find I drop weight when I concentrate on what Im putting into my mouth- with that said, eating is just way too enjoyable:) You just have to experiment and find what works for YOUR body. I'm new to the site and have been very careful to follow the instructions as to make sure im gonna be successful at losing weight, but it seems that im gaining instead of losing. Im doing alot of cardio and on the weekends i run 1/2 mile - 1 mile, n still nothing. Do u think that yoga will help me to lose inches at least? I need to lose 40-50lbs by next May.
I've been doing yoga lately in addition to my running and it really seems to be helping, both physically and mentally. Yoga Journal's website has a 28 day challenge that I'm doing. I highly recommend it. It's free and most of the videos are about 30 minutes long!
I have about 20lbs to lose by next May for my wedding. That sounds like it's doable but I've been stuck for about 6 weeks! I need a jump start. I did one month of P90x last summer, and I lost inches, but not lbs. I'd like to lose another 10lbs before I start toning again. Good luck everyone!

wanting to lose about thirty-forty pounds by january. I have a little over six months.
I'm trying to lose about 20 lbs for my wedding in December. Right now it seems to be futile, though. I'm 4 weeks into a couch to 5k program and a member of the 28-day bootcamp. Hopefully that will jumpstart things, but I'm just in a 3 lb range I can't get out of. So frustrating!

I'm the "best man" in a wedding next month. My goal is to look phenomenal in a dress that the bride chose that is not my favorite. The wedding is not about me, though, and I'm supporting one of my BESTEST friends in the world on his big day. SO, for me to feel awesome, I'm working to lose 18 pounds. I've already lost 9 and have 7 more weeks to lose the last 9. I'm in it to win it.
The dress has just arrived at the bridal shop and I'm already down to a size 8 from the size 12 I tried on. It will go straight to the alteration shop!

My daughter's getting married September 2, 2012 and I'm the one trying to lose weight. I wanted to lose 14 lbs more, but after reading some of your commitments think I could shoot for at least 20lbs. I know I can if I just do the program. Right now I'm working with a trainer 2x's a week doing strength training plus 1 day on my own, interval cardio about everyday and sticking with the 1200 daily calories. Overall trying to eat healthy.
My middle daughter needs to lose too, but is very touchy if I bring it up. My daughter, the bride, is a perfect size 6.

My wedding is 62 days away from today! I've given up on trying to lose a dress size because it's time to do alterations. That said, I'm seriously toning up. I'm now aiming for amazing arms and shoulders in my dress. It's not just a wedding - it's gonna be a gun show!
I've been doing strength training and Zumba for awhile now...although I have had my weeks where I skipped strength...but it still paid off! I need my dress taken in an inch in the waist! and my shoulders looked perfect at my fitting last weekend! My arms are still a little flappy, but overall I'm very proud of myself!

it has been a battle, trying to get fit for my big day. but it is well worth it. i cant wait to see his face when i walk down the aile in my dress. i cant wait!!!!
I personally LOVE kinnect for the 360. I loved the your shape, and dance central. I prefer these to the wii fit for many reasons. The wii fit, its easy to "cheat" and gets kinda boring. But the kinnect, it actually scans you so you are sure to do all of the movements, and it is fun, you dont even realize you are actually exercising!!!
[LYONLUV] if you have SparkPeople generate your arm workouts, they have an amazing body weight arm workout that seems to firm up the jiggle. For me, it didn't really slim down my arms, but it did firm them.
It involves wall pushups, tricep dips, two-part regular pushups (where you pause half-way on the way up and down), one-arm pushups which work the triceps again, and reverse bridges. I know that I noticed a difference just doing it once a week after the first couple of weeks! Good luck to you!

Our wedding is in 104 days! I joined Curves and lost 6lbs my first month by going 4-5 days a week. Unfortunately I only made it to Curves 8 times in Feb. and it was not good :( I'm recommitting to going to Curves at least 3 times a week now.
My main concern are my flabby underarms! They jiggle and look big! Any tips for getting rid of the under arm jiggle?
I am getting married Oct. 6th and want to lose at least 40 lbs. I joined Planet Fitness this week and worked up a routine with a trainer. The gym is so clean and I like the program the trainer put together for me. I have done Zumba in the past which I loved since it was basically dancing. Good luck to all of you!
I am getting married November 3rd and have 47 more pounds to lose. I started the 30 Day Shred last month and kept up with it for about 2 weeks. It was tough, but I really did see a difference and my body lost inches and pounds! I started again yesterday, and plan on doing the straight 30 days (without giving up) and maybe some Zumba, as well.
Ideally, I would like to lose the 47 by August..and I think with the 30 Day Shred, it's totally possible! Good luck with your efforts, and know that it's all about consistency! :)

I'm getting married September 16th, 2012 and have 45 more pounds to lose. I'm disappointed in myself today because I had lost so much but recently gained back about 15. Starting tomorrow I've committed to working out with a trainer 2 days a week again (this is what I did the first time) to get my mojo back. I was excercising 6 days a week for a long time but totally fell out of the routine over the last few months. I have a strapless dress....I want my arms to look AWESOME. I have so much work to do.
I also have my 20 year high school reunion this July. I wish I could be at goal by then, but it would require a rate of weight loss that just isn't realisitic now. I really wish I hadn't wasted the last few months like I did. :(

I'm getting married June 9th! I've lost 20 pounds since December. I try to go to the gym at least 3 times a week, and I stay FAR away from fast food! When I go to restaurants I try to find lighter choices on the menu! I've also tried Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, the workouts are great. I use them if I don't feel like driving to the gym!

We just photographed a wedding where the bride lost 50lbs before her wedding and looking great!! She really put a lot of work into it. It was such a big difference between the engagement photos we did about 8 months before the wedding and then seeing her on her wedding day.
She really watched what she ate and was careful with her portions. To get the process started she used Curves and when she leveled out with that went to P90X. She said the P90X is what have her the great definition. It made me think I might try it out!! She did say that it will totally kick your butt if you are not in shape at all.
Personally right now I am have a Kinect and am loving the Biggest Loser workout. I am thinking about getting one of the dance games to mix it up.
I do 10-minute trainer every other day (another Tony Horton) video and combine it with a strength training workout to make sure that I get in cardio and strength that day.
Then, on the alternate days I do Zumba for the Wii. It really works, it's lots of fun, and it has different lengths depending on how much time you have.
P90X really works to build up muscle, but in order to lose weight, you have to eat healthy as well, and for me, it just didn't do what I wanted it to. But that's me, and I actually didn't buy them, just borrowed them from a friend thank goodness!
Wii Fit is fun, for awhile...but if you do that, you should really get Wii Fit 2 and set up a routine for yourself, so that you aren't spending so much time deciding what to do and not working out while deciding. That was good for me, but I like Yoga, so most of the workout was Yoga with strength training intermittently.

I danced in my house for 30 minutes, or less during the summer and lost about 10 pounds.
I used Chalean Extreme for the past 3 months (on my last week now) and I've lost 15 pounds with it. You really need to eat properly to help muscle to show but the result is amazing. I'm planning to do p90x combined with Turbo fire to help me lose another 20 pounds before the wedding (april 12th 2012!) Beachbody does produce some great program. the key is to be consistent!
I also use zumba on kinect. the movement is great and you do work up some serious sweat. I'm looking to get either just dance or dance central to get in some great cardio work out on my off days.
I like the Kinect for the Xbox - all the games involve you moving so it's a great way to get your exercise in. The UFC is a great workout!

I borrowed the wii fit for a while and found it to be hard to do every day. There was a lot of downtime and I never really felt like I was putting in a solid workout, except jogging which was pretty boring after a few times.
I haven't done P90X, but I completed Insanity which is similar and made by the same people. If you're dedicated, these programs will absolutely help you tone up and lose weight but you MUST eat healthy. I ate poorly throughout the whole program, so while I was feeling really physically fit and noticed a lot of muscle improvement I lost hardly anything.
Right now I'm doing a mix of TurboFire and Bob Harper's Inside Out. I just pick whichever one I want to do, and combined with monitoring my calories I'm losing roughly .8 pounds daily without feeling hungry or tired.

Has anybody tried P90x? I want to know if it works before I buy it. I am getting married in late September and wanted to get into shape and lose some weight before then. So reply back to let me know. I know wifit works because I used to do it until the scale would not work correctly.

Have you tried using any of the workout games for the Wii Fit, like Jillian Michaels? My fiancée and I mostly want to get the Wii Fit for the winter time. We thought it would be a fun and active thing to do while we are spending the weekends at home, since we are not much for the snow or winter activities. And I've heard Zumba is a LOT of fun! However, I have yet to try it or find someone to do it with me. I will try looking into a Zumba class in my area

My Dad bought us a Wii Fit so we would all work out but it didn't work out that way. I found it boring sometimes and I had the games I liked and that was all I played on a regular basis. I would reccomend Zumba. I love it. The different dances keep me going and I don't even notice that time has flown by until my roommate comes back. The Wii Fit is fun but if you get bored easy then I wouldn't suggest you spend the money.
