Dr. Mercola on his web site certainly doesn't recommend fruit since it has fructose that spikes our insulin. He says to stay with the low glycemic fruits, etc. After reading Gary Taubes' wonderful book "WHY WE GET FAT AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT" from five years of research of diets over the last 80 years, he found that Dr. Atkins was right about sugar/starches spiking our Insulin and storing fat, and then making the stomach pump out GHERLIN the hunger hormone so we crave more. I got the book at the library after seeing clips of Mr. Taubes on Youtube.

Every summer, i make my daughter and I these fruit smoothies. I use bananas, grapes, strawberries, blackberries, apples. Either all together or sometimes these fruits or those fruit.
I have been doing a lot of research into doing a fruit cleanse.
Anyone ever done one? I need something to jumpstart my weightloss, maybe that will help me stay motivated??
