It really depends. My grocery trips usually start in the fresh produce aisle and I impulse-buy whatever is cheap that I know how to deal with.
I do like to always make sure I have frozen broccoli, spinach, peas, green beans, California mix, stir-fry mixtures, and corn-based stew mix. I managed to freeze some tomatoes, but I usually turn to the canned. I keep a few other canned veggies around for emergencies, and hubby has glommed on to the mushrooms so I have to keep buying them.
Fresh, preferably, with top choice being straight from the Farmer's Market. If fresh can't be had, or it's simply more economical to buy frozen, then I'll do that. I never buy canned though - way too much sodium, and it just seems kind of gross to me. The only things I buy canned are tomatoes and beans, and the occasional can of soup.
I buy mostly canned diced tomatoes because I cook with them a lot. I occasionally buy fresh tomatoes to serve with tacos.

I prefer fresh or frozen except for baked beans, and saurkraut, I'll sometime use the canned veggies to make soup, I rinse off the can veggies before using eleminating some of the salt.

I prefer fresh always but i use a system when grocery shopping... 1.look at sale prices for fresh... buy what i can 2. purchase lowest price frozen 3. if i have to resort to canned to provide variety i do to keep it in my budget (gotta do what ya gotta do with large family and tight budget)

All of the above. I mostly buy fresh and frozen but do get canned, especially beans, on occasion. I live in Minnesota and so fresh isn't always the easiest thing, especially if I want to keep a little variety in my diet.

I typically buy fresh. If it is specifically going in a recipe then I will use frozen.
