Stick to the basics:

Deadlifts- work your entire lower body and core
Lunges- Entire lower body
Squats- Entire lower body
**there are quite a few variations of each of these you can switch up between.

Push ups- entire upper body
Bench Press- chest, arms, shoulders
Overhead Press- shoulders, upper back, arms

Side bends- Obliques, lower back
Planks- entire core
back extensions- lower back, glutes, hamstrings

I also like chest flies and one arm rows. Pull ups are suppose to be the ultimate upper body workout if you can get a pull up bar ***but you may need someone to spot you at first and help you to do assisted pull ups. As well as bridges for lower body and core.

Hey guys, I have been using weight machines for the past few months but am thinking of starting free weights as I want a total body workout, not just certain muscles that the machines work out. I am wondering if anyone had any advice of exercises to do or even any youtube videos to look at. They have so many different choices on youtube and I feel very overwhelmed when looking for them.
