All mediteranean islands have narrow, steep streets and beautiful beaches. Fruit is so good and has great taste and smell so I didn't crave sweets or cakes like back home. I ate mellons, peaches and grapes and it kept my sweet tooth satisfied. I had croissant for breakfast, lot of full fat 3.5% milk and yoghurt during day and even honey with yoghurt. Three meals a day rule still aplied, no snacks between, unless it is fruit. We usually had boiled or spit roast, although we didn't avoid to fry meat or eggs using sunflower oil..

I must add that I have a little health problem which prevents me from intaking proteins above some level. For instance, I can't eat pork or blue fish at all, so I have some no-meat days during week and I just boil potatos or have risotto. I guess that, if you were in my shoes last summer you could hipotetically have more lean meats instead of carbohydrates and loose even more weight.

I walked up and down narrow streets, and swam like crazy every day. Ok, not like crazy but I swam slowly and for long time every morning and afternoon, breaststroke style.

When I got home I was 1.5 or two kilos lighter and decided to take Pilates classes to try not to get more fat during winter.
