Hehe, it totally is a trigger. Football and food just go together. I have managed to make some of my indulgences a little healthier, but I still love my vegan buffalo nuggets on Sundays. What's different now is that I plan for them, so I just eat lighter the day before and the day after and maybe even work out a little harder ;).

I agree that football season is a food trigger, but YOU can change your very own traditions! Some excellent suggestions below from others.

My personal favorite is making healthier versions. I like this because my belief is that only a diet DEPRIVES me of food. A healthy lifestyle includes moderation in all things AND healthier habits overall, including eating ...

Good luck!!

Try a veggie tray with low-cal dressing.

Keep a sense of humor. Remember, laughing burns calories too!

Laugh until it hurts! It's one of the few things in life that's still free!!

Oy, I started a silly ritual in college (eating Cheetos during every game) and ONLY during football season. I never touch them the rest of the year. Every time I forget to buy them or think it is silly to eat them... my team loses! Thus today, my Colts lost because I wanted to stay away from the Cheetos. I should have just ate them & allotted my calories for it!

Thai Chicken Satay with Spicy Peanut Sauce

oven baked sweet potato fries...

or better still... a crudité planter with a lo fat dip
or baked whole wheat pita and salsa
or any of the many great Spark recipes

I think it akin to the Pavlovian theory for dogs!

Why do I crave nachos, chicken wings and French fries during football season? This is so tough.
Any help out there?
