I'm in the same pickle. Just two days ago I sprained my ankle while walking. Now I am sidelined with an aircast, ice, and elevation. Besides upper body exericses I can't do anything until the ankle is sufficiently healed. The old, chubby me would have loved all this inactivity, but the new, slim me is crawling the walls. Definitely ask a physical therapist, they're very creative! Maybe something like a hand-bike, or something that just moves your upper body but gets your heart rate up?
