I had the exact same thing happen to me....I thought my laces had been tied too tightly but it persisted for months, actually. It was the same foot where I'd recently recovered from plantar fasciitis so I'm thinking there's some relationship there. Eventually it just went away on its own...

It sounds like a cramp or spasm. I would have came home and laid back with it elevated to see if it went away. If it does not go away then I would see a doctor...

I don't know what I did yesterday but I was on a 10k walk and about half way through I got a sharp pain in the top of my left foot. I thought it was my lases tied to tight so I loosened them off but it only got worse. I stopped for awhile but continued home the remainder of the way and now I'm unable to even stand on my left foot today. Every time I wiggle my toes or move my foot up or down I get sharps pains. I have been exercising daily for over a month and never had any issues but I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this and if so is it just over training and in need of a day or two rest or something worse that should be looked at.
