My son turned me on to my fitness pal.....in have been tracking very closely for about 3 weeks..amazing to see how fast the calories add up!! I'm so glad I started doing this.I have never ever tracked my food before!!! Very educating!!!!

I knew I was getting out of control and starting tracking as a way to figure out my problems areas. Turns out, most everything was a problem area! Haha! You are so right; it's a real eye opening experience how many calories are in everything; I was completely fooling myself and vastly underestimating how many calories I consume in a day. I've been consistently tracking for nearly two weeks now, and I don't even want to think about going back to that weird world of estimation. It finally (FINALLY - after 25 years of dieting) makes sense to keep track of everything. It's just too easy to get out of control NOT doing it!

Boy are you right about tracking food. I couldn't believe what I ate all day until I started to track my food. It sure opened my eyes and makes me question myself before putting food in my mouth.

You are absolutely right. Tracking everything I put into my mouth has been an eye opener for me too. I am determined to track everything, even if I go over my range. Who am I kidding if I am not honest in tracking?

So true!! It's SO easy to look at our days/weeks and say we ate well and "forget" about that spatula of batter we licked off the spoon making cookies. Or the handful of candy from the office dish.
It can be shocking and really put things into perspective!

It's amazing how we can fool ourselves into thinking we are eating healthy, until we start tracking what we eat. For years I have fooled myself into believing that I have been eating healthy and exercising enough, when really I have been eating too much and the exercise has just been enough to keep my weight from increasing faster. I get so angry thinking that I have been doing everything right, why is the weight not coming off!!! Well in reality, I have been eating WAY TOO MUCH!! A bite of something here, a lick or taste of something there really adds up!! I cannot even imagine how much I would weigh at this point if I didn't continue to exercise!! Tracking what I eat has been a real eye opener. I am now accountable to my nutrition tracker. It's time to get real and honest with myself. No more excuses. I cannot blame anyone or anything for what happens in my weight lose journey. It is up to me now!!
