Yes, it's hard when eating out

Try to eat at restaurants with nutrition info available- if they don't have it published, never hesitate to ask for it. The worst they can say is "we don't have the info available." :)
Hang in there!

You will find lots of helpful information in our Living with Diabetes section of the site as well.

You might also want to give the SparkPeople 8-Week Diabetes Weight Loss Challenge a try as well.

Welcome to Spark. I think you'll really like it.

The varying nutritional counts of the cooked entries is, unfortunately, just one of the hazards of eating out. How do you really know what's in the dish unless you know the recipe and how much you ate of it? There are probably a lot of different carb counts for Larb depending on the composition of the ingredients. Since you have to guess, I would distrust ones that seem excessively high or excessively low and use an entry that seems consistent with the others, if the Larb you ate seemed consistent with what you're used to.

To see what the nutritional count is before adding it, enter the food in the search field, click search, highlight the one you want to look at, and then click the "See Full Nutritional Value" button under the word Add.

Hi, I am new to this board.. I started using the Tracker to keep track of my Carbs. I was recently diagnosed with Type II and my A1c is high. My question is this, How do I know which to choose when making a food choice. There are many choices and the carb counts vary. Example, tonight we had Thia food and I love Larb Chicken. The first Carb count was 9 per serving, another was 3 carbs. How do I know which is accurate??
Also, how can I see the nutritional info for items before I make a choice. (for planning a meal).

Thanks for the help.
