have been adding flavoring to water for my DH who has alzheimer and he seems to like it better as for myself the brita filtered water is fine one day at a time

To make sure I drink plain water and not pre-sweetened kind all the time, I make my self drink 1 bottled plain water (16oz) before I will let myself drink one 16 oz glass of pre sweetened or flavored kind. I like to drink the Clear brand that comes from Walmart. (I really like the kiwi strawberry and the Pom blu flavors, yumm). So it's one plain 16 oz, one flavored 16oz, one plain, one flavored and so on through out the day. I usually end up with like 10 - 8 oz glasses of plain water a day!

Nope, artificial sweeteners are not good for us. word on the street is stevia is a natural sweetener. I use it, it does not taste like sugar but it works in tea and coffee. I drink my water plain, out of the tape, cold. At least a gallon a day. Fill a gallon jug up every morning, and drink a quarter of it on the spot before anything else. Yep... Goooood... Mmmmgood.... Real good... Good for you... Good for me...

I prefer plain water - don't like the sweet or sugar substitutes. Occasionally I will buy Unsweetened Just Cranberry juice and use 1/4 cup in 1-2 quarts water. Something about the pink color reminds me to drink it when I have a container sitting close at hand during the day.

I was drinking flavored water daily, but stooped. Now trying to drink plain water, not so good, but necessary.
i like flavored seltzer water and "sparkiling ice" but it's not too sweet.

YES to unsweetened no calorie carbonated water I read through the replies and didn't see mention of my favorite - LaCroix Water - it comes carbonated in a variety of citrus flavors, plus coconut and other fruit flavors. I really like the citrus flavors. (not a fan of the berry flavor) http://www.lacroixwater.com/ There's no calories or sodium. It makes a great soda replacement. I really like the carbonation of sodas and this works for me. I also drink a lot of spring water, aiming for a minimum of 64 oz a day.

I love water now my goal is to drink more ,it can get kinda boring so you need a little flavor!! I'm drinking much more now up to about 60 ounces a day and counting!!! :-))

although flavored water isnt as good for you as regular water, flavoring it with fruits and things like Mio allows me to drink more, so i think its worth the trade.

I like having Talking Rain on hand. It's carbonated water with no artificial sweeteners---mind you, it's not sweet. But it does have a refreshing and light flavor. BERRY is my favorite.

I just drink regular water from the tap with lots of ice. If I want to be festive I will squeeze fresh lemon or lime in it. When I empty my glass I fill it back up. I just think of it as a healing thing to do.

I usually drink plain filtered water from the sink. Sometimes I add lemon juice and sometimes I slice a lemon, grate ginger root, and add mint leaves to a pitcher of water and let it sit overnight.
I drink plain filtered water (from a tap at the sink thanks to the people who owned our home before us) but if I want a little flavor, I stick with a fresh wedge of lemon or lime instead of artificial stuff. I never tried the vitamin waters because I already take the vitamins I think I need. I used Crystal Light 20+ years ago before I knew what artificial stuff can do to a body. We work so hard to eat right and exercise, it only makes sense to drink what promotes good health.

I enjoy a little flavor in my water: These days usually I drink my water as hot (green) tea.
I did have a problem last year with Vitamin waters. These were on sale at the grocery store, so I picked them up instead of diet soda. It took me months of experimenting to find out: when I drink a lot of these I get all over muscle/body pain. I don't know if I'm reacting to artificial sweetener, dye, or the vitamin content, but I've learned to stay away from these. Has anyone else encountered this? I find it odd. And I do know my body can (and does) do some pretty weird things.
I never thought of some of the natural ways that are listed here to flavor water. The only one I have used is lemon, but I might try some of the others. I have tried Mio and also the flavored Stevia, but don't like it in my water. I use the flavored Stevia in my tea, though.
Usually I drink just plain ice water, but I do need some way to drink more of it because I don't get enough.
I took a page from my local Chopped Leaf restaurant. The night before I fill my water container, add a few frozen strawberries, and the next day viola! I have strawberry flavoured water! You can add fresh lemon, lime, pineapple....really anything with juice. No more added chemicals for me!

I avoid chemical or artificial flavorings, and also the catch all "natural flavor" listed on labels. I do enjoy green tea (u/s tastes like a more interesting version of plain water) or some (real) fruit flavoring.

I do drink flavored water because I hate and will not drink plain water! I am very careful about what I am drinking so that I don't have anything artificial. To me getting my water everyday is critical.

I don't do flavored water. Mostly because I don't like the way it smells.....but I figure its just chemicals my body doesn't need.
I found that flavoring water helped me drink it when I wasn't getting enough water in my diet. I still might have one glass of flavored water a day, but the more I started exercising and the more I started drinking straight water, the more I craved straight water. I say do what you need to do in order to get it into your system. Once you're drinking enough, then try switching over to straight water.
Iuse Mio drops, you really don't need much. I like lemon Mio in hot water.

I avoid flavoured water like the plague along with all other unnatural food products and additives. If you don't like plain water try putting in slices of lemon or cucumber or herbal iced teas. It's also nice to throw a splash of 100% juice into sparkling water.
Getting unaddicted to sweet tastes will help all aspects of your diet, nutrition, and health.

I drink the crystal light and diet snapple teas that you add to water.. it really helps me not to drink soda.. I mainly drink water all day at work and then when I come home for dinner, I usually drink a crystal light or I add lemon to my water for some flavor..

I would go months without drinking water (horrible I know) because I hated the taste of it. Then I started buying the flavored water but not only were they getting too expensive but most of them had so many carbs. Now I buy Mio or sometimes I have leftover lemons and just use that. I figure flavored water is better than no water at all

I agree with GramCracker. The artificial sweeteners are not good for you. I have been drinking Mio energy and recently quit after doing a little more reading about what caffeine and sweeteners do. I pour my daily water in a pitcher every morning and drink throughout the day with the goal of finishing it by bedtime. I like the idea of flavoring the water with orange slices or cucumbers. I do this in the summer but hadn't thought to do it in the winter.

I drink flavored water all of the time. The only time I can drink plain water without it tasting like metal to me is while i am working out.
I flavor mine with lemons, limes, cucumbers, oranges, Crystal Light, Mio, and so on.
I have also bought flavored Stevia drops that work very well.
