I love the Athleta Contender Capri's. No one needs to see the exact outline of my butt!

These have a truly cute skirt w/ drawstrings at the side. They seem pricey, but the material is fab - wears great and keeps me cool in summer and warm in winter. Plus there's a hidden zip pocket in the back (I keep credit card, id and a few bucks in there when I'm at the gym).

Even w/ all the running I do, no pilling between the legs. Equally great lifting at the gym.

They also have some other variations (some in all cotton that I use to do errands in ,etc.). The non-cotton (link attached) is good at smoothing and holding you in thanks to the spandex.
Functional yet girly and cute. In petite, reg and tall.

I tried these as a gift to myself for sticking to my program. Great reward & worth every penny.

Now, I know your not suppose to feel sexy at the gym - you are suppose to sweat! But in my gym clothes I feel even worse than unfashionable. I am grateful for the comments here and will be checking out these brands and styles this weekend!

I like the Athleta Kickbooty pant (though they have a number of cuts intended to flatter different figures). I also like the bootcut pants to even things out. Even though I'm on the small side my hips/butt/thighs are still out of proportion to the rest of me. (That was even more pronounced when I was a 2X, as you might imagine.) I've liked Athleta's athletic pants at both ends of the weight spectrum.

I like Nike dri fit regular cut. They are loose past the knee so they don't emphasize the pear. They seem to smooth the lumps and bumps. Yes, I am a pear too!

I'm a fan of Aerie's slim gyms! They're snug in the right places but thick so you don't have to worry about your panties showing through

I'm a large pear shape also and still haven't found good looking workout clothes - I've just given up caring what I look like when I exercise (at least I'm active lol).

I'm a fan of the lululemon yoga pants. I think they're called the groove pant. It's a thicker, stretchy fabric that smooths over some of those bumps. They don't have a tight elastic waist, just a stretchy tie, so they don't dig in, and have a bit of a flare at the bottom, so they're not tight past mid-thigh. Really, the only downside is the price: expensive! They're about $80.

(oh yeah - just edited to add: I'm also a pear shape and only 4'8", and lululemon has free hemming)

Does anyone have any suggestions for some flattering workout pants for a pear shape. I'm 5'4 and currently about 135. I have some....um....bumps and lumps that do not look great in most work-out clothes.

Also, it's been a cold winter in NY. I would prefer long pants to short, cropped pants. I already have a pair of those that I can live with.

Thanks i advance.
Tracy
