I started out doing group fitness and let my certification lapse a few years ago. What I like the least about group fitness is the people who need the most help, they can't/won't pay attention to any cues you give, and if you go over to help them, they are horrified to be singled out and never come back.

I prefer PT where I can work one on one and make sure their form is perfect. As for your age, I think I was about 27 when I started PT and I was the oldest trainer at the gym.

Hi there,

I'm 22 years old guy who graduated two Fitness Instructor courses and one Personal Training course. I've been doing internship at the gym for 4 months, I started teaching spinning classes, Boxercise, X-Fit and Kettlebell classes.
My main goal of this internship is to get an experience and finally find a full-time Fitness Instructor or Personal Trainer job. I wouldn't get paid money working as an Instructor in my gym (I should switch the gym then) however my gym boss can offer me to work as a Personal Trainer.
However I don't feel yet I can be a Personal Trainer, I know I would get paid a lot more (of course it would depend how many clients I would have) than general Instructor but I feel that I still lack of experience and I need to learn a lot more. Clients would pay me quite a lot of money for an hour and I would like to be as best as I can so it would be worth it to them.
What do you think I should do, am I too young to be a PT? Should I work few more years as a general Fitness Instructor in order to get more experience or should I start working as a PT right now?
Please if you have any advice to me tell me! :)
