I love my FitBit as well! I have the Ultra which the one replaced, I find the sleep monitor provides great info and sometimes explains why I'm dragging in the morning, ha, ha! You don't have to have the scale, I upload my info manually and it works just fine. I like that you can add all types of info on such as the food log, BP, glucose, body measurements, etc. etc.

I love my FitBit - have had it since the end of October (I got the One as soon as it hit the shelves) and I can't live without it - days I don't hit the gym I love that it shows how active I am and keeps track of my flights of stairs, I find myself doing a few flights at the end of the day if I haven't hit my 10 goal. I like the sleep part of it because it helps me when I wake up tired to know why (some nights I guess I toss and turn). I don't have the scale either but when mine starts to go on the fritz then I would consider it since the rest of my family would use it too. I wear mine on my bra as well and find it to be pretty good at the actual steps - I have run on a few different treadmills as well as mapped out my runs out and about and it is right with the calculations! The body bug looked interesting to me but I couldn't see wearing it where everyone could see it, my fitbit they can't see it for the most part except when I wear it on my sports bra but it is slightly hidden given I clip headphones near it as well.
Love earning petals on my fitbit. I have the Ultra (the One is replacing it). I absolutely love it. It goes everywhere with me and no one knows that I am even wearing it. I don't really weigh myself regularly, so the scale would not be necessary for me. I have one that works pretty well. will look into the wristband one, but not until the Ultra breaks.
First off, let me tell you you that I LOVE my fitbit! You absolutely do not have to purchase the scale. I don't have one and I don't have any intention of getting one since the scale that I have works fine and I don't need to shell the money out when I can add my weight manually. I have the fitbit one. It is small and I attach it to my bra in the morning and forget I even have it on. You can check your progress on the fit bit but since that is a little inconvenient considering where I wear it, I have it linked to my iphone via bluetooth and I can check my stats that way. There is also a USB thing that you can plug into your computer that syncs the fitbit via bluetooth as well that works wonderfully. And of course, one of the best advantages is that it syncs with SparkPeople!
The difference between the one and the zip, (other then shape), is that the one tracks your sleep at night. It is a nice feature - not necessary but nice.
If you don't know already, the fitbit is coming out in a wristband this spring. It will be water resistant and can be worn in the shower (unlike the other fit bits). I personally like being able to wear the one discreetly but the wristband sounds cool too.

Take a look at the BodyMedia as well. I find it works great for me, I don't need a scale either.

Can anyone help me out with the FitBit? I am looking into it, but unsure of which one I should get. There's the regular one and the one that also monitors sleep. Is it necessary to get the scale too? Or can you just enter your own weight information from your own scale?
