Start with small goals like working out for 30 minutes today or drinking 8 glasses of water. I love food too and I decided I'm not going to deprive myself during my long journey to my goal. At the end of the week if I've worked out everyday and stayed within my eating budget, I'll treat myself to a cup of ice cream. It works for me and helps me stay motivated and on track! Find out what works for you and go from there!
I would suggest joining some sparkteams or finding a motivational buddy to keep you on track and accountable.

I started Sparking in June of 2007. By using Spark and some self discovery along the way, I'm down 50 pounds, and am holding steady at a healthy weight. Spark is a massive site, you'll be discovering new and exciting things for months to come! * Diet is a dirty word. Every time I hear it, I wash my mouth out with chocolate!
Hi everyone! This is the first time I have been on the message board. I am a 56 year old grandma who has been overweight all my life. Have been on every kind of diet imaginable. I do not know what type of eater you would say I am...I just like food! Good food, healthy food, junk food...it really doesn't matter. I eat when I am happy, sad, bored, or having a good time. My family has always had get togethers with lots of food. I do not like to exercise and find excuses not to. But at this point in my life, I know I need a lifestyle change. My weight and arthritis in my knees, and chronic pain stop me from enjoying my grandbabies. I am hoping to stay motivated this time and will look to my Spark People family for encouragement!
