I sympathise. After a shoulder replacement I put on too much weight. I'm still restricted but much less now and thoroughly enjoy being able to use it again.

I took the last three months off after an injury (broke my leg). I gained over 20 pounds in that time. It's been terrible to admit to myself and my spark friends. I felt depressed and anxious and guilty the whole time.

I've only been back on track for a week - and I already feel SO much better. I already feel more positive and that I can handle things. Just one week and I feel like myself again. I'm ready to lose the rest of my weight and hit my goals!!

For me it was my knees ! It took me forever to lose a size ,I lost 20 pounds before I could get in to a smaller size and I only needed to lose 50 ! Also my skin looks much better when I am drinking lots of water !

Definitely having pants fit better. Also losing that bloated feeling. Cutting back on white carbs has also reduced any food cravings. It still surprises me that I can feel this good.

When I put on an outfit to wear to a wedding and it was way to big. I stood in front of the mirror and cried.

I haven't been on Spark long but this is what I have noticed.
-My clothes are starting to look too baggy!
-If I don't exercise one day I really miss it.
-I make healthy choices without feeling deprived. Eg. Do I want a small glass of wine this evening or do I want a small piece of dessert tonight??

Well, although I messed up my weight tracker ticker, and it's not showing it, I've lost 30lbs so far. The first thing I noticed was that my 'suck-it-in' undies (ie. Spanx) weren't as tight as they once wer

Next I noticed the energy :)

To begin with I saw changes in my mood and my energy levels. I created a new me - more willing to try things, more active, more goal oriented and focussed, less afraid.

With time I started to believe anything is possible.

Now (almost 3 months later) I'm a person who looks forward to execise! I hate missing it. I don't pay attention to the scale much, even though it sometimes does oblige and move in the right direction... hehehe! I feel fit! I can climb stairs to our 17th floor penthouse, I can walk up steep uphill slopes in the hills, I've started 'walk jogging', my stamina has increased as has my confidence. I've overcome inhibitions about jogging in public - still prefer evening with street lights to bright day light, but still.

Oh and yes, clothes are looser, chin acne has cleared up considerably, cheeks are always glowing with a rosy tinge :-)

Just by changing my eating habits, within a few days, I had more energy and just felt better. That really helps with the motivation to exercise and continue eating better.

Definitely having my clothes feeling looser, then watching the scale slowly inch downwards. Being able to workout with more ease and feeling more energy.

My first NSV (this time around) made me crack up when I realized it. My undies had been getting a bit to small and had been rolling down my belly. Last week I realized they were fitting better and staying where they're supposed to. emoticon

Hmmm, thinking back to the beginning I think my big NSV was making choices so that I stuck to my calorie goal. I'd been tracking for over 2 years and if I was close to my goal I'd say "oh well" and eat what I wanted anyway.

Hi Shiny,

I am in the same boat as you. I've been diligently journaling my food intake for about a month or so, but really have not seen much movement on the scale. The scale is not the best and most accurate measure of weight loss. I have to keep this in mind myself, otherwise I will get discouraged. Our bodies can change weight daily, due to water weight gain, hormones, etc. So, don't give up and keep up the good work! :)

I just started my weight loss program in the last week, but my biggest victory is not having to drink a soda to start my day. Instead I reach for water.

I have been on Spark People for 3 weeks, and though I haven't been seeing pounds lost (I didn't have a working scale till this past Sunday), I am starting to notice that some of my shorts are fitting a little looser.
What was your first NSV after starting your weight loss program? emoticon
