Today was my first full day with my FitBit Flex. I teach preschoolers (3 yr olds) and I never realized how much I use my left hand (non-dominant)! I am always washing my hands, picking up toys, picking up children, wiping tables, sweeping, serving food, stacking chairs, turning pages, etc, etc...As I went about my day, I kept thinking "how could this thing possibly be monitoring ONLY my steps??"
But I was also surprised to see I didn't even reach 5,000 steps today! Not even HALF of my goal! I figured I wouldn't reach all 10,000 steps, in fact, I didn't go out of my way to take extra steps. I figured for the first couple days I wear my Flex I'm going to do my normal daily activity to see what I need to do to improve.
Anyway, I'm really excited about my FitBit!! The challenge of getting better and taking more daily steps is going to be fun!
