Thank you all for the time that you took to read and reply to my first posting. I sure needed them tips. Yes, the site can be over whelming with all the great info, tips and help! I think its great!! Going to take me at least a week to get familiar with it all. Thanks again!!

WELCOME TO SPARK!!! Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time.
A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.
1. Put together your own Spark page. This is a great way to communicate with other members and build relationships that will support and motivate you. You can do this by going to the START page and the green section has something about your Sparkpage.
2. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.
3. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.
The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. WELCOME! Nice to have you with us! I love my Sparkworld, and so will you!
Here are tips I put together to share with each new Sparkperson I meet. I hope it will be a help to you as you work toward reaching your goals!
The site can be overwhelming, take your time. Learn one topic at a time, when you get comfortable with it, move on to another area of the site. Soon you will be using all the tools SP has to offer, and loving it!
If you get stuck, and have a technical question about the site, here is a link to the Customer Support Team that is eager to help you: http://www.sparkpeople.com/community/hel p_support.asp (only technical questions, if you have a nutrition, fitness, or health question, post the question in the Forums, other Spark members will eagerly try to help you!
Use your Spark Points (click on view SparkPoints) as a map to the site. It is a good way to learn your way around and you can earn points to send yourself or others Sparkgoodies.
Go back to your Start Page if you get lost, you can get almost anywhere from there.
Be sure to use the nutrition tracker. You can ensure you are getting the proper nutrients as well as tracking your caloric intake and this is so important to any weight loss journey. Never "diet" again! Keep focusing on living a healthier lifestyle!
Read the book, THE SPARK for guidance, motivation and inspiration! Check out SPARKCOACH.com for extra support, motivation, and inspiration. I joined it, and LOVING IT! Great way to stay accountable!
Log on everyday to stay focused!

Hi SP People!! My first day on this site. So far I like what it offers. I'm in my early 40's, weighing 185. I'm not to familiar with exercises that I need to do to get in shape or nutrition. I have a goal to lose 20lbs. by August for my niece's wedding. I see tons of help on this site that is great!! I'm going to study this site so I can find information to help me with understanding how to get to my goal. It would be cool if I had a SP buddy for support. So, if anyone is looking for a buddy, let me know. Thanks
