Those healthy green smoothies could be causing some bloating if you are not used to eating a lot of fruit and veggies. Certain veggies have a tendency to cause gas to form which makes you look bloated until you pass the gas. As your body gets used to the healthy foods this tendency decreases but doesn't necessarily go away completely.
If the bloating/gas gets bad you could try something like Gas X or Beano which can help!
On a funny note, I had a mama foster dog and her 6 babies. The mama had the worst gas, probably from getting healthy food on a regular basis for the first time in her life. Beano became my best friend. A capsule in her food twice a day made a HUGE difference! Her adoptive mom still gives her Beano twice a day so that the family doesn't have to wear gas masks 24/7!
And congrats on the weight loss!

I do weigh myself after a BM in the morning. Well, I just got a digital scale to confirm the weight loss..and I went from 224 to 217 in 10 days. I actually started eating green smoothies every morning 10 days ago, so this is kind of unbelievable!
I shouldn't obsess about the scale, but confirming this weight loss is exciting!

Hot dogs may be low in calories, but they are also very high in sodium. So, it's not out of the realm of possibility to feel bloated after eating a hot dog.
Also, not to get TMI, but did you weigh yourself before a bowel movement ? Food has weight. Water has weight and if you don't do a poop in the morning, all the food you ate from the day before is still in your intestines. So, you could be bloated as a result of not having a proper bowel movement. Some bowel movements can cause a substantial lose or weight gain, just like water retention.

lol...you might want to chillax with the scale just a bit ;)
Please, do not start to weigh yourself before and after meals. That's a recipe for disaster.
You only need to weigh yourself first thing in the morning, after you go potty. That's it.
If you get up, weigh yourself...have 2 cups of coffee, and guess what? Your gonna weigh more, due to the weight of the liquid. If you eat a sandwich at lunch, then weigh yourself again...your gonna weight even more, due to the weight of the food, and the fact that that your body has not processed/eliminated it. Add in the weight during the day of 8 glasses of water......
Your weight is going to fluctuate every day..regardless. Yesterday I ate 1190 calories, yet gained 7 ounces due to sodium retention in the food. No biggie, I'll drink a ton of water today and it will be gone.
Ever weigh yourself before your TOM? A lot of women see a 5 pound gain for 4 days right there.
So, the scale....don't let it be the end all be all in your weight loss journey.
If you really, truly have been having issues with your current scale, then by all means buy a new one...otherwise, why not just relax and enjoy the fact that you did lose weight?

Oh wow! I never realized that one meal can effect someone that much. I should measure myself before and after a meal and see the change.
Thanks..that made me feel better.

LOL. I know the feeling.
Remember you are not a number on a scale. You are valuable person no matter what the scale weighs.
If you are feeling bloated you just might be bloated...air doesn't weigh that much! You look fluffier but really aren't. Food choices can really mess with our intestines.
I gained 6 inches around the waist after one meal because something in it disagreed with me! Thank goodness I was wearing a loose, belted dress and could take the belt off.
As for scales, I recommend a simple easy scale. Something with a big read out. The more complicated scales that tell you your weight and BMI and percent muscle etc sound great but I haven't had one yet that works well for any length of time.

Today I have felt and looked bloated in the mirror, but the scale says that I've lost 5 pounds in a week?? Maybe it was the hotdog with onions and a soda I had for lunch. Not a good choice I suppose.
I do not want to believe the scale and keep my hopes up. It cannot be too much water weight, because I have a combo BP/water pill that keeps that from happening.
I feel terrible having this sort of denial.
I'm getting a second scale tomorrow. Any recommendations? lol...
