I have been really discouraged this last week, since I didn't lose any weight at all. I stuck to my calorie requirements, most days I was at the very low end, and I expected to see a 2 -3 pound loss. I have been walking at least 10 min 5 days a week. I was really down until I read the post from team leader Archimedesll reminding another member we didn't gain the weight overnight and that we needed to have patience. After I read the post, I felt a whole lot better. Thank you Archimedesll for your wonderful words of encouragement.

Just got home ... thanks ladies for your support and feedback. I really like the 10 minute idea and measuring every 2 weeks. I will put your encouragements to use. emoticon

NoMore... i saw that you mentioned that you were struggling to get out in the morning for a walk, I was the same way for a while, and now it is almost like a habit. I would tell myself that I would go just for 10 minutes and if after 10 minutes I wanted to stop I would. But usually most of the time I just kept going. After a while it was like a habit, although like today I don't really want to go to the gym, but I know once I get there I'll be in the groove.

The hardest part of a workout if getting out the door!

And thank you everyone else so much for your support. I have been measuring myself and I am down a few inches in my stomach which is great!!!

Just stay with the program for six weeks, even if you don't lose weight (which I believe you will), you will feel better and fitter. That feeling will justify the effort and bring continued success.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE measure yourself besides weighing in. Make sure you measure in the same places every two weeks (or however often you weigh in). Read about it online first (you don't want to think you're gaining inches when you're not).

Last year I did everything right for 6-7 weeks and didn't lose any weight, but lost MANY inches. It is not just about weight. If you're exercising, you may be gaining muscle, which is heavier and losing fat. I also have a pair of "tight" can't wear jeans that I try on every weigh in. It's amazing how much looser they feel.

I lose weight slow - doing these other things REALLY helps keep me motivated!

Hi there - I totally relate - I've been doing it too for just over two weeks with no loss of weight. I'm glad you posted your frustration, because I found the feedback very encouraging! Thanks and hang in there.

Thanks for the replies! I guess I just need to be more patient, I am down inches, so I guess all in all, things are going pretty well!

But I really LOVE the support!! :)

"So I've been on this for two weeks, and I have been staying within my calorie range and have been burning around 2000 calories a week, but I've only lost 1 pound in two weeks. "

A pound in two weeks is great.
I lost my first pound after six weeks of doing everything right.

Patience!

GLITZYGIRLY,

It's only been TWO WEEKS ! The weight doesn't magically drop off the minute we decide we need to lose. While a safe weekly weight loss would be 1-2 pounds per week, there may be weeks you don't lose. There may even be weeks when you gain ! And that doesn't mean you're doing something wrong. This isn't the Biggest Loser. Those types of losses are just not typical. Also, those types of losses in that short a time aren't typical either.

In general, it would take 6-8 weeks of healthy eating and regular exercise before a person sees a change in the scale. And that too is normal. So, don't assume something must be wrong because the scale isn't moving as fast as you'd like it. Those dramatic losses the late night infomercials and grocery store diet rags just don't happen in real life.

So, don't get discouraged. I can assure you that IF you continue to eat right, watch your portions and get some regular exercise that includes some strength training, the weight WILL come off with time. But, you have to give your body time to change. You didn't gain the weight overnight. it's not coming off overnight.

As the coaches all say,"trust the process".

I would stick to the low fat end of the calories..Also check your carbs..try to stick to the low carb end of your calories.

Good luck.. You are doing very well. Hold on. You are working towards a healthy life.

So I've been on this for two weeks, and I have been staying within my calorie range and have been burning around 2000 calories a week, but I've only lost 1 pound in two weeks. I know that it probably will take some more time before I see results but I just am wanting to see something for the hard work I've been putting in. Just feeling a little discouraged is all and was wondering what suggestions y'all have?

Thanks!! :D
