My favorite new food is scrambled egg white oats. I eat it almost every day, I freaking LOVE IT! My original response was going to be broccoli, but it's not new technically lol. However, I've never loved it as much as I do now. I eat like 5-10 lbs a week. Oh, and I have to mention Quest Bars. They are revolutionary. Amazing. Out of this world.

In 2012 I tried quinoa for the first time. I definitely will have it again in 2013 and beyond.
I ate a lot of Old Fashioned Oatmeal and although I'd had it before, it became my favorite food to fill me up in 2012!!

acorn squash--fixed any number of ways. one favorite way is to slice it, spray with Pam, dip in herb mix and bake in oven.

Porridge, since I found out that soaking it overnight in milk in the fridge with some dried fruits in it, and adding sweetener and/or other flavours such as cinnamon improves the texture and taste. It is really easy to cook in the microwave and chopped apple or other fruit or nuts can be added after cooking. It is even good cold in the summer! Much healthier than the golden syrup and top of the milk we used to add when I was a child, and even tastier.

I've never tried quionia but I look for new things all the time--maybe if I try it I might like it.
I also tried Greek yogurt for the first time this year. I LOVE it. The fat free plain yogurt is a perfect substitute for sour cream. I can't have fat free dressings or fat free sour cream or fat free "half and half." Many of the "fat free" things have fillers and crap that my body just cannot tolerate. Same with a lot of the "light" ones. The fat free Greek yogurts are pretty much the only fat free dairy things that I can tolerate.
ANYway, I've tried a lot of new things this year, and made quite a few of my own recipes on sparkrecipes-mostly to track what I am cooking without having to enter each ingredient individually.

I have noticed that overtime, my food interests have changed. I am experimenting more with things I have never eaten. This year I tried kale and quinoa, for example. But my favorite new food this year has been Greek yogurt. I really like the creamy consistency and the fresh taste. It is my go to snack and is often part of my breakfast.
