I also love falafel. When I have ordered it (I couldn't make it myself) it comes with a yogurt or tanhini sauce (depending on the restaurant) which alleviates the dryness a bit. Very yummy!

Never tried it but I do really enjoy chickpeas so it is worth a try.

@Patti, I can see that...they are indeed made with chickpeas...which can be dry. But, I love love love love chickpeas, so I guess I am used to it.

I've always found Falafel to be dry. Maybe I haven't yet found the best ones. I'll keep trying.

From Wikipedia:

a deep-fried ball or patty made from ground chickpeas, fava beans, or both. Falafel is a traditional Arab food, usually served in a pita, which acts as a pocket, or wrapped in a flatbread known as lafa; "falafel" also frequently refers to a wrapped sandwich that is prepared in this way. The falafel balls are topped with salads, pickled vegetables, hot sauce, and drizzled with tahini-based sauces. Falafel balls may also be eaten alone as a snack or served as part of a meze.

basically....AWESOME!!!!

Holy Hannah!!!! When I tracked my dinner...the whole meal was only 430 calories and the froyo was only 240...so I still have a few more calories I can consume today, not to mention I burned over 600 in walks today.

So, I was craving falafel today...and the only way to cure a craving is to have some. So, I compromised and walked 2.5 miles (5 total) to the Greek restaurant to get some...Yippee...it made my tummy happy. The only problem is they put up a new frozen yogurt spot on the way...so I had some of that too.
