I count day ends when I go to sleep and next day starts when I wake up. Right or wrong...that is what I do. I think it is easiest for me. I don't want to sit at midnight eating because I am tired and then mad the next day becuase I have so much less to eat or go over the next day and end up eating so many more calories.

As long as I don't go over on calories, but I count, in my life, midnight is the next day, so if I eat at night, I make sure I count.

As long as eating at midnight doesn't cause you to eat more calories the rest of the day. Should be fine. Track carefully

The word "diet" is so horrible when used to mean "a temporary fix until I go back to my normal way of eating". That's when it becomes a horror story.

The word diet, meaning your menu, your way of life, is a much better use of the word.

Don't get caught up in the trap of "temporary".
Make it a lifestyle change that you can live with

Your body doesn't know what time it is. You don't have to have your meals in a conventional manner. Track your meals from the time you're up until the time you have to go to bed. :)
I'd consider it a documentary.

DIETING *is* a horror story. This really is about making a healthy lifestyle change. I tried the dieting thing over and over and over and over

and over
Having healthy habits 95% of the time is really the way to go.

So when do I get to start in on tomorrow's calories? Like, say I'm going to pull an all nighter with work stuff...

Can I start in on my breakfast at midnight, like when the carriage turns into a pumpkin (or preferably, a pumpkin muffin with a nice cup of coffee)?

Or is this more like a vampire tale and I have to wait till dawn (hissssss, if I'm still up then, I think the light really will burn since my contacts will be all dried out)?

What do you think? Is dieting a fairy tale or a horror story?
