Thanks for the encouraging words. Lots of us are smart people, understanding, good employees or students....and so forth. But the one thing that about beats us is our eating habits. I know this is a head game for me. I need to change my perceptions of the world. Be more grateful. In some cases lower expectations of the world and other people. And don't fear putting myself first.

emoticon Welcome to Spark. You have taken an important step on your journey by joining!
I've been a member a little over 3 years. I made fantastic progress and lost 100 pounds in the first year BUT I became careless about nutrition and exercise and have gained a lot of the pounds back! I became disgusted with myself and closed my Spark account, but soon realized I NEEDED to be here. I'm back using the nutrition and exercise trackers now - they are so important. The sense of community and the friendships I have made here keep me going!
Explore the site, make your Sparkpage if you havenít, join teams, and make friends. You will find this site an amazing place full of encouragement, inspiration, advice, and support.
Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with.
Good luck!
Sheila

There are also groups here that you can join. They are started not only by Sparks themselves, but also the members with special interests. Finding a group of like-minded individuals makes it easier to stay with the goals you have set for yourself. They also have a Sparks coaching program that charges a small fee each month. This is optional and only something offered for those who want a more personalized special coaching.

This site offers a lot and continues to grow by leaps and bounds.

Once again..Welcome!

Hello Fellow Michiganer,

emoticon to SP.

I've been on and off WW for too many years. 18 months ago I found Spark People and have stuck with it. I'm close to losing 50 pounds.

This community is really supportive. I wish you well on your weight loss journey.

Hi -

Well, here I am, I tried weightwatchers again, and lost nothing in the first three weeks, where I had done wonderfully in the past. I'm just sad that I signed up for the 3 month pass!

Today is my 46th birthday, and the start to the rest of my life. Looking forward to losing at least 25 pounds!
