4. motivation: To be more healthy for myself and my family. Goal weight for the end of February = 168 lbs. (starting weight 172.4). To keep up my running by doing it at least 1 to 2x per week and to keep increasing my distance and speed.
5. delight: dinner at home with my family

I've been hovering at the top of my calorie range for the past week. I'm gonna try to scale back this week so that I'm closer to the bottom of my range.

Feb 6 Monday

1. calories- 1500

3. exercise- 50min plus a 30 min walk with my kids and dog
4. motivation- lose 5lbs in feb and get ready for 1st marathon BLOOMSDAY in May
5. delight- not much of anything today. My husband left for a business trip for a week. not used to him being gone and missing him. I did lose 1/2 lb I am delighted a little about that.

Ugh . . . I ate too much this weekend! But, back on track today . . . . Do you know that someone told me that the average American would have to run 12 miles to burn off all of the extra calories eaten by the average person during the superbowl??!

Delight:Giants win the Superbowl!! Great game

I went over 112 calories due to opening a bag of tortilla chips for a few bites and never stopped eating them! ugh! Could have been worse though! I usually PIG OUT during the super bowl.. I'm guessing 2500 calories at least! So can't beat myself up too bad! ;)

Giants!

Did not lose this past week, but since I didn't feel well and didn't exercise for 3 days, (and ate lots of comfort food,) I'm ok with remaining the same.

Tonight was very challenging... I had a crowd over to my place for a potluck. None of the foods were particularly unhealthy, but there was a LOT of food. I decided to have a little bit of everything. (If I wasn't being careful, I would have eaten a lot more.) I burned 300 cals on the treadmill this morning, and went over my calorie budget by about 400. It could have been a lot worse!

Kept up with my running & exercise. Ran/walked a virtual 5k on my own.
Down 0.2 pound at my weigh in this morning.

I'm in too! I found this very helpful the last couple of weeks. Looking forward to celebrating with you this month.

2/1:

My motivation is to look GREAT this summer for boating and for 2 family weddings! I will lose 5 pounds in February.
delight: spent some time with good friends in the morning.

This was a really tough evening for me. Kids had me all sorts of frustrated and upset. Unfortunately, I turned to eating a bit more than I should have. This is really the first time I have lost control in a while. That's ok. It's over. Feb. 2 will be a much better day.

Who will join me in THE FEBRUARY 2012 BUDDY MOTIVATION CHALLENGE?

The plan is simple. Each day we post:
1. Number of cals:
2. Number of minutes of exercise:
3. Number of glasses of water:
4. Motivation: (the same one everyday)
5. Delight: (What made you smile or brought you joy today?)

On Day 1, state what your motivation is to lose weight. Repeat this same motivation for the next 29 days. Your motivation has to be something that will inspire you to lose weight.

This is an example:
cals: 1400
water: 8
exercise: 30 min
motivation: St. Paddy's Day celebration
delight: buying a new dress for the event

FRIDAY is SUCCESS DAY. Post any successes you've have during the week.
