Thank you for your replies everybody,

Yes, I do have allergies, and I think this is the main cause of my dark circles. I take antihistamines daily.

Ziggy, your Mum's product looks interesting but I'm in the UK and postage would be a problem. I would spend a fortune on Etsy if I lived in the US!

I have heard the Preparation H thing before...it is very gloopy though.

I ended up buying Dior Capture 10, as the drooping eyelids are my main concern. It is great so far. I think i'm also seeing an improvement with my dark circles as it seems to be making the skin thicker and less translucent if that's possible. When i'm feeling quite bad about them I do apply hardcore concealer but I don't really like applying it too often as it's very thick..

Liz

Yes it is a hemorrhoid cream!

I'm hoping her youthful looks are due to genetic because that would mean there is hope for me!

I just googled Preparation H - am I correct in thinking it is a hemorrhoid cream?

If so, I could understand it reducing puffiness, BUT it is around the eye and the eye tissue is very VERY sensitive and absorbent. It is a wonder that no damage was caused to her.

Maybe her youthful looks are more attributable to genetics or not spending loads of time in the sun, as well as good nutrition/hydration .... or all of these things.

My grandmother swore by Preparation H. She said it reduced puffiness and dark circles...I'm really not joking! She used the stuff for years. She's 98 and looks 75.....

I like Bare Essentials. They informed me, however, never to put the cream in the soft tissue area but to make an arc from my eyebrow down to my cheekbone and to gently massage it.

Do you have allergies? What you are describing could be caused by seasonal allergies. And those of who have seasonal allergies can tell you that all seasons have allergens! I have to take my allergy medicine in a blizzard!

I wouldn't put too much stock in expensive eye creams. The darkness is also hereditary. My son has them and they improve with better nutrition, more sleep. I use vitamin e for the texture problems. Just pin prick a capsule or use olive oil at night as a sleep mask. It works for me.

Check out this line..there is a product specifically FOR dark circles under your eyes called Bright Eyes, and also the Steal Youth Face & Eye Cream is amazing (firming)!!

This is actually my mom's business so sure, I'd love to bring some business her way. But honestly, I would recommend her line to anyone. She's amazing at what she does and her products really WORK, I'm serious. And just a sidenote about wrinkles, a woman who was using the Steal Youth cream actually sent my mom pictures before she started using it around her eyes and a few months later, and it was remarkable. So if you're looking for quality product that will work, and is made with my mom's love lol, look no further :) I hope you find this helpful!

Apart from ensuring you are getting enough sleep, and are well hydrated, not smoking, and possibly using TINTED moisturizer to camouflage it, you would be better off talking with your Dr and having bloods done. Below is a link that you may find helpful:

Thank you Krill,

I use bees wax on my hands sometimes but didn't think to look at any other products!

I use Burt's Bees for sensitive eyes. It won't clear up the darkness under the eyes but will keep the skin moisturized without making your eyes red and may help with puffiness.,

Hi,

I've been searching the net for reviews on good eye creams, but thought that I would try here for honest opinions.

I have had dark circles and a weird texture under my eyes since being a teen. Increased water intake hasn't fixed this so I would like to try a new cream as the Olay isn't cutting the mustard! I also have quite heavy eye lids / brow and so something firming would also be great. I'm 31 and I don't really have any lines or wrinkles...yet!

Can anybody recommend any creams at all? My buidget isn't too bad, up to 50 ($85). I have been looking at Dior and Clarins so far.

Thank you in advance for your advice

Liz
