Check with your doctor, but I would suggest water walking. No impact on the legs and joints :)

Ask your doctor if water areboics will work for you. If so, check you Y for their schedule. It is wonderful. emoticon

I agree w/ all as well ......... and being a Nurse, it is important to find out the 'origin' of this pain and begin to get treated once a diagnosis is made.

I agree with the previous posters. Your doctor is the best one to give you exercise advice if you've got issues with your legs and back that are causing pain.

Back pain: do talk to your doctor or better yet, your physical therapist.

My own back pain issues were lower back and the exercises I got helped strengthen me there. I will note that when I was in the severe throes of back pain, I could NOT do these, this is why your physical therapist is going to be useful. He or she can assess you, AND will let you know when you are ready for these.

Even though my back pain has not been around for a while, I am now re-starting my set of back exercises -- for me there are three main and beneficial ones. But you need to work with your professional to know which are going to be the best for you. Sorry about that...

I would like to start an exercise program on my own at home, need to ease into a program as I have leg and back pain, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and thanks.
