Hey AZUL, My ortho has asked me to rest my knee completely for 15 days and take the tablets. I'm due for an appointment next week. Will ask about types of physio. I've wanted to start an intense exercise regime and eventually complete programs like P90X and Insanity( taxing on the knees). I'm thinking of giving it a few weeks of rest along with PT before i start anything.
I've had the knee problem for a few years. It would start paining whenever I started running or even brisk walking for more than an hour. I'm worried that the knee problem may be a long term issue and will prevent me working out fully. Are you able to do weight training and running regularly without your knees getting into a lot of trouble? If so, I have some hope too.

I injured my ACL about 10 years ago--completely tore it in half. I was unable to walk for quite some time and was told I would need surgery. I decided to do some PT before surgery to strengthen my leg, and with a lot of work I was actually able to avoid surgery completely. I still baby it a bit, but it isn't a problem now.
I would recommend that you see a physical therapist for some basic exercises. You really do want professional advice on something like this.

You'll definitely want to ask your doctor what exercises are okay to try and what you should avoid. It wouldn't be safe for us to speculate on what you can do based on your medical history. Your doc might also be able to refer you to see a physical therapist, who can design a set of exercises specific to your needs.

Hi, I recently showed my knee to an ortho and had an MRI taken. Here's what the report showed: - Minimal knee joint effusion - Sprain of Anterior Cruciate Ligament
I have a 15 day course that includes Collagen peptide (in both tablet and powder form), and have been advised to wear knee braces throughout the day. The doc hasn't told me about any exercises though. Are there any workouts that I can do in the meanwhile, that will help strengthen the joints. Also, is it okay if i do upper body exercises while recovering?
