Listen to your body...if you're not terribly sick, then get walking & exercise will help strengthen your immune system, and drain your stuffy head. If you have a lung infection & cough, then best to take it easy.

if i were you i'd concentrate on drinking lots of water and as for exercise ....walk 5 minutes out your door, turn around and walk home, then sit on the floor for a 3-5 minute stretch and then have a cup of tea. this will be just enough until your body lets you know it's okay to do more. use hand sanitizer often to help prevent reinfection. good luck.

It depends how sick you are. I let my body talk to me. If I am thinking about exercise then I am feeling better and exercise may even let me recover faster. Walking is a good exercise if you are getting over an illness. Nothing strenuous.

If you have aches, fever, any chest congestion or GI issues it is best to allow your body to heal. Remember healthy living is a life-long journey so you will have plenty of time to get your fitness back.

I usually just adjust my workouts. I do what my body allows and I try not to push it too hard during illness.

It depends how sick I am. Also depends if I have fever; I don't exercise if I have fever. But if I'm not feeling well, I don't do a full workout anyway. Sometimes I just do some Yoga or some stretching.

I'm feeling very conflicted about not exercising much the past THREE weeks because ive been really sick. I've been to the doctor, taken anti biotics, as well as over the counter meds. Feel miserable. Am also gaining weight back. I tried getting on the elliptical for fifteen minutes which seemed to work out well the other day but the following day felt much worse.
What do you do when you get sick?? Is there a slow type of exercise that you would recommend? If I was sick for like a few days then I would completely take a break but when I get sick I do it right and am out for sometimes a month plus.
This is really setting me back....
