Certainly indivdual circumstances will vary the trigger point A LOT.
Just trying to frame a very broad number for expectations. And hopefully will explain why someone increasing from 800 to 1200 calories per week will probably not see an increase in their recommended intake.
What M@L said can depend on your range and your goals.
If you've got quite an aggressive goal and wanting to lose as much as you can as quickly as you can, you will probably never leave the 1200-1550 range, no matter what your exercise goal says. It can take thousands to move that, because your goal may simply be too aggressively fast for your weight.
If you have a more adaptive goal that is not the minimum, eg 1270-1620, then this should change with any, even quite small, increases in fitness. Eg if you add an additional 350 calories exercise to the burn goal, that is 50 more calories per day you need, so your range will increase by that.

SparkPeople's program doesn't quite work that way--your calories burn goal is factored in to your program along with other factors (current weight, goal weight, etc). This is why it's very important that you make sure that your calories burn goal is accurate.

If you enter the estimated number of calories you expect to burn each week in your fitness goals, SP will give you a daily calorie range that takes that into account. You don't "earn" calories through exercise, per se, but a person burning 2000 calories/week will have a higher calorie range than someone burning 0 (all else being equal).
I know on Weight Watchers, you are given extra points based on your exercise level. But I don't see anything similar with SparkPeople. So even though I exercise 5-6 days a week, my daily calorie limit is the same as it would be if I did nothing. Is this the way it's supposed to be? I'm a newbie, so I may be completely clueless.
