I would agree that to keep the body fit exercise is necessary. However, many have lost weight without it because FOOD INTAKE causes weightloss, not exercise.
Cardio is good for the heart Strength Training is good for lean muscle (which burns fat like crazy) Eating Healthy is good for weight management.
A culmination of all three forms a good habit and plan for being healthy.

It's a lifestyle choice. People hate to be told to do anything. I'm thankful I grew up in the Kennedy era when he started physical fitness in elementary schools. I grew up with it as a lifestyle. Now the kids have most physical options taken away from them, other than fee paid sports teams. Less recess or no recess - all kids have to be treated fairly, so for P.E. all they have to do is show up. We had to pass physical tests and get in shape to pass those tests. No one plays outside anymore. As an adult, I'm still playing outside.
